If you don't know... than you should- ferrets should only be bathed a couple of times a year with an actual ferret shampoo or oatmeal soak. This product works great and has a lovely scent. It leaves my babies squeaky clean as well as silky smooth. I would recommend it 👌

We are newbies to the world of Ferrets and did LOTS of research before getting into something we couldn't handle!! That said there are conflicting tidbits about how often to bath the little stinkers (said affectionately). Our cage is spot cleaned every morning and again in the evening, with a major top to bottom clean every other week. Well, we found that bathing Him when we do our big clean up every other week is perfect. And this soap is nice. This Marshall shampoo definitely helps reduce that signature ferret smell, but don’t expect it to completely eliminate it. That said, it leaves their coat soft and clean without irritating their skin. Just a reminder: over-washing your ferret can actually make the smell worse in the long run. We have had a huge issue with fleas this summer and our normal medication from the vet isn't keeping all the fleas at bay. I don't know why but our ferret is a flea magnet. I have noticed less fleas on him since using this. I do not use it a lot because it is strong smelling. I personally love the smell and it makes Tonka's coat silky but he doesn't seem to be a fan. He seems to rub on the ground more after using this instead of bouncing off the walls after bath time. ... show more

This actually works well. Ferrets smell bad. No two ways about it. They stink!! This helps tremendously. I bathe them about every 6 weeks or so with this and rinse them in clean water weekly. I can finally manage to live with the little stinkers in the house.. If you are considering getting a pet ferret please think about it for a good long while. They require a lot of time, smell really bad, are impossible to completely house break, are expensive and prone to adrenal disease, very picky eaters and live a good long while. They are great pets and I adore my daughters ferrets but if I knew then what I know now we would have gotten a dog instead. Seriously, they are not for everyone and if you are not willing to make a serious commitment to caring for one it is not fair to the ferret. Get another pet. ... show more
