Description

Veterinary Formula Clinical Care Antiparasitic and Antiseborrheic Medicated Shampoo for Dogs is an effective and affordable treatment for skin scaling caused by seborrhea, mange and other parasitic infections, and fungal infections. With an easy treatment regimen of shampooing 2-3 times per week initially and then less frequently as skin improves, you can give your pet relief from symptoms including an inflamed scalp, greasy skin, rashes, and scaly skin similar to dandruff that are caused by seborrhea (most commonly caused by bacterial or yeast infections). The veterinary-grade ingredients in our topical bottle of antiseborrheic and antiparasitic shampoo for dogs help treat, hydrate and relieve multiple skin conditions such as seborrhea, mange, parasitic and bacterial infections. Powerful ingredients like salicylic acid, coal tar and micronized sulfur help treat the condition, while colloidal oatmeal and allantoin hydrates skin and promotes healing. You can also use this antiparasitic mange shampoo for dogs with other topical spot-on flea and tick treatments. Great for pets with allergy-prone and yeasty skin! We know that your dogs are more than just pets - they are part of the family - so Veterinary Formula Clinical Care designs premium medicated products that pet parents can actually afford. Your dog will feel fast acting relief from skin infections and you’ll notice that your dog’s skin is calmer, less inflamed and the itching is controlled – making you both happy and able to focus on more important things like walks, fetch and snuggles. It’s important to determine the cause of the underlying issue, so please consult your veterinarian if skin issues become a consistent problem. Due to the coal tar content of this shampoo, we do not recommend its use on cats.

  • Good Product to Combat Dog Funk
Size: 16 Oz Pattern Name: Shampoo
Works great, really helped with my dogs Frito-y and yeasty summer stink! It also made her hair super soft. I agree that the smell is a little weird, I would definitely not describe it as coconut. It is a medicinal smell, but I would not say it’s terrible as some reviewers have said. It really only smells strongly when lathering. ... show more

  • Perfect for Cassiopeia's Skin Allergies
Size: 16 Oz Pattern Name: Shampoo
I got this initially for a homeless client's dog with skin issues. In reading about the product and seeing the photos specific to the skin issues I realized this could help out my own pitty girl who has skin allergies. I thought she was just reacting to the fleas when we went too long between treatments. This product brought to my attention that she is fighting multiple parasite issues. The shampoo is thick and goes a long ways with a nice lather. The scent is kind of strong to me, but that is because of the tar ingredient. So far Pup's skin is recovering. I am adding the product to my favorites ... show more

  • Works! Just do it biweekly!
Size: 16 Oz Pattern Name: Shampoo
I have 3 dogs, 2 got a skin/fur infection (we got fleas while I was pregnant, luckily not an infestation but it did wreck havoc on my boys skin). I bathed them once a week (all I had the energy to do) and 1 boy (beagle/basset) has skin/fur back to normal after 10 weeks of weekly baths. Probably would have went away faster if I did at least 2-3 times a week. Long haired dachshund still has issues so we took him to the vet. Why I bought this shampoo: already had anti-fungal which did not help. My boys would get pink boils on their back, long haired had tons. They would get patches of black flaky stuff and what almost looked like ringworm, pink scaly skin (not ringworm though). I believe an infection caused by fleas (unfortunately with the increasing heat we have been getting fleas every year despite once a month skin medicine and daily flea/tick treats). This did help. Glad I saved money on one dog; if my husband shaved down the longhaired and I bathed 3 times a week, I would have been better off. This stuff does stink & dries out fur/skin. Once better, fur does get back to normal! My basset is back to being greasy. I used normal shampoo after I washed this out to make dog smell better & sprayed with aloe to help with dry fur. ... show more

  • Impressive! No more mange!
Size: 16 Oz Pattern Name: Shampoo
It’s been 10 days today and the mange is almost gone. I used a combination of DermaPet" Benzoyl Peroxide Plus Shampoo (DermaBenSS); Davis Benzoyl Peroxide Medicated Dog & Cat Shampoo, Veterinary Formula Clinical Care Antiparasitic and Antiseborrheic Medicated Shampoo for Dogs, and Nu-Stock. I’ll outline what I did in a second. Some background: My 10 year old boxer contracted what looked to be demodectic mange. She got bumps on her skin, some large, some smaller. They would start leaking pus, then crust over, and when they scabs came off, she’d have a dark, calloused patch of bald skin. She wasn’t terribly itchy. And she didn’t get stinky. The sores were mostly on her back. Granted, this wasn’t the worst case of mange, by a longshot. She’d recently had two procedures under general anesthesia and I wasn’t keen on the idea of subjecting her toxic dips and other potentially harmful meds, especially given her age. So first I tried the Listerine & baby oil route. Didn’t really help. Then I switched to Borax, hydrogen peroxide and water. That helped a little, but I had to go out of town for a week and couldn’t treat her. When I got back, she looked worse and had more bald patches. She also had a new oozing sore. I read up on Amazon and chose the four products I mentioned earlier: DermaPet" Benzoyl Peroxide Plus Shampoo (DermaBenSS); Davis Benzoyl Peroxide Medicated Dog & Cat Shampoo, Veterinary Formula Clinical Care Antiparasitic and Antiseborrheic Medicated Shampoo for Dogs, and Nu-Stock. First, I washed her as directed with the benzoyl peroxide shampoos. These shampoos are supposed to flush the pores out and clean out the gunk. I used this step to essentially prep her skin for the following two steps. FYI – DermaBenSS lathers up more and has a coconut-y scent, but Davis seems just as good. I used a little of both. I didn’t need a lot of shampoo. Just remember, these shampoos don’t lather up like regular shampoo, so don’t keep putting it on thinking you need more. I think of this stuff more like a benzoyl peroxide face wash. (Those don’t really later up either.) I kept the shampoo on for 10 minutes, massaging the shampoo into her fur (not scrubbing – I didn’t want to hurt her). Then we rinsed. It’s very easy to rinse off if you don’t gob it on. After that, I used the Veterinary Formula Clinical Care Antiparasitic and Antiseborrheic Medicated Shampoo for Dogs. This one lathers up much more. I think the benzoyl peroxide shampoos really allowed this stuff to get in and work its magic. I followed the directions and kept it on for 15 minutes. It smells medicine-y. Again, massaging it into her fur. After that, we rinsed and towel dried, then pup shook and rubbed against the length of the furniture a dozen or so times. After she dried off a bit more, I put out a waterproof blanket and got out the Nu-Stock. I read lots of reviews about the smell so I was expecting something horrible. It’s not perfume, that’s for sure, but it’s really not as bad as I expected. It smells pine-y and medicine-y, with a bit of sulfur in there. It dries chalky and it can be greasy, so be careful of your furniture. That’s why I put the waterproof picnic blanket on my bed. I applied Nu-Stock directly to her new sores and recent scars, but also spread it over her back where there were quite a few recent scabs. I did this by thinning the Nu-Stock with baby oil, and using an old hair dye brush to make sure the solution got in good contact with her skin. The Nu-Stock sticks pretty well, so your pup might look a little odd with the yellow stuff on her coat. Again, I think the benzoyl peroxide shampoo helped prepare her skin so she could get the full benefit of this product. I repeated this process every three days. On the third and fourth washes, I started using a washcloth to make sure every part of her skin was cleaned properly. Again, not scrubbing, just washing gently. All told, she’s been washed and treated with Nu-Stock 4 times. And OH WHAT A DIFFERENCE. 1. No new sores have popped up, for the first time since she contracted this horrible condition 2. The open sores have healed with new pink skin, not the dark, calloused hard skin that usually appeared when scabs fell off 3. Hair is growing back nicely – even on the older scars This treatment actually makes her coat shiny. Today, she actually seemed like she felt better after her bath – she was romping around like a puppy. I am so grateful to these companies for their amazing products. I think using all these products in tandem made for my pup’s quick recovery. I’m never going without these. As long as I have a fur baby, my cupboard will be stocked with these fantastic products! ... show more

  • Best choice I’ve ever made
Size: 16 Oz Pattern Name: Shampoo
I had tried many shampoos and sprays and nothing seemed to work, after 2 vet visits already I really couldn’t afford another. I took a major risk and tried this and within the first week my dog was all cleared up and doing so much better! The ingredients are much safer then most other prescription strength shampoos and sprays, it also helps a lot with dry skin and makes fur nice and silky soft. When you first apply the shampoo, it is a rich thick texture and lathers up well, but once it sits the lather goes down don’t can be tricky to rinse, but once the water runs clear you know you’ve gotten it all! It’s pretty easy to use because of that! Definitely recommend it. ... show more
