This is a really good product. I have a wire-haired terrier mix. Her hair gets so dry that it actually breaks off around her collar. I was trying to find a product that I could leave in and this is it! It smells very nice, clean and fresh, not perfumey at all. She weighs 40 lb and I use three pumps on her because her wiry hair is so dry. It keeps her hair hydrated and her skin feeling better for days. I read so many reviews on so many products, but what made me settle on this one was the people that said it made a huge difference for their dogs in such a small amount of time, almost instantly. I thought I might give it a try, and if it didn't work then I would give it away. It worked. It worked like a dang miracle. This has been the driest winter we've had in Phoenix. No rain for like four months. The humidity has been stuck at like 11% forever, and the entire landscape is one big dust ball. My poor little Aussies have suffered of it, too. I have two, one has an entirely different kind of fur than the other, and it seemed she had straw for fur. You'd pet her and it felt like the fur would crack, it was so dry. I bathed her and conditioned in high-quality cleaners and conditioners but they only made a very temporary difference. I also noticed my little dry doggie seemed itchy and would rub her fur on the ground or the sofa, and you could see the dry skin flakes on her fur more and more. I felt so bad for her! So I decided I would try this body butter out. When I say it made a difference, that's actually a bit of an understatement. This was a freaking miracle!! I started out using one pump (it smells pretty darn good but the smell is mild) and rubbed it into her skin as much as I could. I kid you not, her skin sucked everything in like a sponge. I did another pump and rubbed it in. This time the skin seemed much more receptive to keep the moisture but her fur hardly registered any change because it was so dry. In all, I did five pumps and rubbed it in. It rubs in very easily. I finally felt her fur give a satisfied sigh and keep the moisture in that last time. She was SO SOFT!!!! And glossy and smooth! She smelled yummy, too. I even put some on her head and ears. Then I brushed her to make sure it was all distributed evenly. I did this the next day but I only needed two or three pumps of product for the same result. Again, she was so soft and shiny! She hasn't once rubbed herself on the ground or sofa or anything. No skin flakes visible anywhere on her, and when you pet her, she has the softest fur, which makes you want to pet her even more (something she LOVES). My other Aussie has a very different kind of coat, and it's already very soft, but I could tell she was still dry so I gave her like two pumps of product and rubbed it in. She looks like she just came from the groomer, she's so shiny and soft! They both do. And an added benefit was that my hands felt really nice. No weird residue or greasy feel. This lotion works AMAZINGLY on my maltipoo. I use it like a leave-in conditioner on a dry coat. It absorbs into the hair immediately and doesn't leave any oily residue AT ALL! The scent (Guava) is so light and pleasant. I noticed that she doesn’t mind it, and even enjoys me putting it on her! She’s typically pretty sensitive to other dog perfumes or dry shampoos and would usually sneeze a bunch after I apply other products. This lotion makes her fur super soft and has helped her coat stay matt-free. This product has completely replaced any dry shampoos or sprays I used to use on her. It keeps her smelling fresh for longer between baths. Granted, she is a poodle mix so I would take that into account, in terms of the type of coat that we’re dealing with. For context, I typically use about a dime-sized pump of the lotion on her every 2-3 days (she weighs just shy of 10lbs), but have recently started doing a pearl size every day as a part of her routine. I’m not going to lie… after applying it on her, I rub any remaining product onto the rest of my hands and elbows. I would buy this stuff for myself, if not for her! ... show more

This stuff really works. It makes my Bernedoodle's hair extremely smooth and easy to brush out. He likes it a lot more than other brands, especially types that are sprays. For sprays, he actively runs away from me. With this one, he tolerates it fine. A reminder that "Unscented" doesn't mean that it has no smell. Just that there is no added smell. Positives: Smells decent and easy to apply. definitely made the coat softer to the touch. Negatives: Did not cure or even help my dogs hot spots but did seem to moisturize them some. 3 star review because it could work with what you need the product to do for your animal and im not saying its a bad product but it did not work for me what so ever. ... show more

Amazing moisture! It quickly cleared up the pup's dry skin upon application and lasts for days without having to reapply. I got the unscented to avoid unnecessary chemical ingredients, but it's anything BUT UNscented. The lotion carries a really strong chemical smell that lasts for days, so might be unpleasant for a lap dog. I might try the fragranced ones later though. Regardless, the product works outstanding and only smells when your face is really close to the application site. It's non greasy and effective. Worth it! ... show more

I use the unscented version for my hairless 10lb dog. Love it! i prefer this over coconut oil because i feel it moisturized yet not greasy or clogging her pores. the unscented version has a smell to it still but it’s not a bad smell. Pretty neutral. But not fruity or anything. overall i will always continue to use this as long as the formula stays the same, and have not had any negative reactions from my dog! The unscented version also keeps my other dogs from being tempted to lick it off her skin, which i appreciate. (my little dog likes wrestling with my big dog she is totally fine i promise lollll) ... show more
