Bought one of these in 2020 to use while gyms were closed. Its seen light use since. Still together and in relatively good shape after 2.5 years. Comfy and easy to assemble. That said, I wouldnt tell a friend to bench heavy (200+ lbs) on this thing, even if the rating (inc. user weight) is 600 lbs. Its fine for your light home usage, but you have to spend more if you want a tank. ... show more

    • Good light weight flat bench for my needs. Docking 1 star because ad is misleading
I've had this Marcy Bench for over 3 years (Pre covid), and it's held up very well with light-moderate use. The only signs of rust are around the bolts because I use this for an outdoor patio gym. I purchased this with the belief that this was a light duty flat bench with a maximal load of 300lb capacity. Why? Because I do NOT bench press. I got this to do supine skull crushers, dumbbell rows, and have a place to sit in between squats and deadlifts. Heres the deal. The picture for this product lists it as "300lb capacity", while the description says "600lbs" and even Marcy replied to a question that this has "600lb capacity". I certainly would not trust this to hold anywhere near 600lbs. Most flat benches capable of loads around 750-1000lbs are heavier (this item is less than 30lbs Vs. a 75lb flat bench) and wobble less. So the advantage of this flat bench is that it is lightweight, easy to maneuver in a small gym space, and is relatively cheap. If I could go back in time, i'd probably shell out $20 more to get something with more weight capacity because its a small price to pay for a bench that is much more capable. With that said, I have no regrets about my purchase because I knew what I was getting when I made this purchase. Because it is lightweight, I can reposition my bench (it does not come with any wheels), elevate it on plates and do seal rows. I move it to my cable pulley to stand on it and do deficit exercises and maintain tension. In summary, good light weight bench but has a minimal load capacity. Know what youre getting and you won't be dissapointed. Do not be fooled into the ad saying this is 600lb max cap. Shame on you Marcy for providing misleading info. In fact, if you view their "heavy duty" model which is around $90 at this time, it also confusing lists the item as 600lb and 300lb at the same time. ... show more

When quality sturdiness and ease of use comes into play....this is by far the best flat bench for the money. There are some shortcomings with this, but I think the product is fine.... For the shortcomings, is that its a little short, or Im just too tall 6'4" and its a little thin than i would like it again, its me being pretty wide with a shoulder span of 2'5"....but it holds the weight plus the weights being moved without argument 600 lb total rated limit...and me being at 360 lbs, it doesnt argue much....it gets the things done i need to....full movement of the elbows and shoulders for presses and extentions....I would recommend this product....also doubles as a bench for my keyboard....dual purpose in my book is a win, plus it dont look bad either. ... show more

I hesitated on getting this after reading the negative reviews on lack of quality control and product problems. But thankfully I didn’t have any of that. I was able to build it myself, I just made sure to read the instructions first and made sure not to tighten the bolts until each set was in. (I did the feet to bar screw set first, then the bench to bar set) So far no issues, if it changes I will be back to report an update. ... show more
