Description

Blue Steel Blue Steel is a cool, silver hair dye with blue undertones. For best results, we recommend lightening hair to the lightest level 10 blonde and toning hair that has yellow tones before use to avoid undesired hues. 1. Wash hair with a deep cleansing/clarifying shampoo. Do not condition. 2. Dry hair with a blow dryer to make sure the hair is extremely porous. 3. Put on gloves and apply Manic Panic Hair Color using a tint brush making sure hair is thoroughly saturated. 4. Comb through the hair color to make sure it is evenly applied. The cream may become slightly frothy. 5. Cover hair with a plastic cap and leave on for 30-45 minutes. For more intensity, add heat. 6. Rinse with cool water away from your face and body until water runs clear. Do not shampoo. 7. Style as desired. To prevent color transfer or bleeding, always make sure your hair is completely dry. Pro Tip: Use a hair dryer to evenly apply heat for 5-10 minutes of your processing time. This will help to open up the cuticle and allow the Manic Panic hair color to better penetrate the hair strand. Make sure to allow the hair to cool completely before rinsing out color.

I was very excited to use this product. I've heard people who have used it tell me that it's awesome and gives you great colors. Application was more or less simple, however after I put it on and left it on for an hour, longer then the suggested time but I wanted to be sure it was the perfect shade, I then went on to wash it out. Imagine my face as I watched the color go down the drain and found my hair was not even a little bit blue. It was the same bleach white it was before the application. I will not be spending money on any more manic panic items in the near future, that's for sure. ... show more

Wanted Fairy Blue but it is so popular result in out of stock. Gonna try this color next. This product is easy on and washes out slowly. If you want the color to last longer then wash with baby shampoo. Don't care for the result? Color washes out quickly with a harsh or dandruff shampoo. All I get is compliments. ... show more

Not quite right. It's not really grey enough. The color came out very blue on my roots, and kind of a dirty grey everywhere else. It's a shame Manic Panic doesn't have a good grey straight out of a jar without having to mix colors.

This dye was alright. Silver is notoriously difficult to achieve, but I was disappointed when mine came out patchy despite being a level 1 blonde. It took two applications to receive the full effect, and it faded pretty quickly.

After watching Monique Parent use this on Youtube, I tried it for my salt and pepper hair, more white in front, pepper in back. I used 1/2 jar on short hair, left it ONE HOUR under shower cap. Beautiful results, shiny and a blue very similar to the ad. I wash every 3 days, and color lasted/faded out after 3 washings, or 10-12 days for me. At that rate, I won't use it all the time, but it's a beautiful change and the cool colors work better on my peachy skin tone. Nice! ... show more

I've used Manic Panic's Blue Steel to upkeep grey hair I had professionally dyed. I was very impressed by how evenly it colored my hair, my roots like to lift unevenly so a lot of times lighter colors look spotty (even when done professionally) and I didn't have this problem with Blue Steel. I did, however, leave it on my hair for a couple of hours (as I do with all vegetable dyes), and I added some dye to my conditioner to help with upkeep. If you're going for a pure grey you may be slightly disappointed, because there is a blue tint to this dye (especially in certain light), but it really is a gorgeous color. Terrible dye! Lifted my hair to blonde and the color did NOT take what so ever!!! After bleaching my hair and applying the dye to dry hair and leaving it on for 30 minutes the dye didn’t work and washed right out. I do not recommend!
