This review is for the BioShieldUV® 18W 24V HVAC UV Light Air Purifier Bulb Magnetic Holder Powered by HVAC Ballast - Air Filter UV Lamp for Air Conditioner, UVC Light for AC Air Conditioner (18W-AC): As a retired Commercial and Residential HVAC/R technician, I have installed many of these UV Lamp fixtures over the years. I absolutely believe in the effectiveness of these devices to sanitize the inside of your A/C system. So now I'll share with you about this particular model only. How I installed this light may be different than your application. I used only one of these, however in some cases it is best to use two. One in the entrance of the evaporator coil and one between the blower and outlet of the evaporator coil. For now I installed between the blower and exit of the evaporator coil. This UV light uses a total of 18 watts. Now most Air/handlers have including my 4 ton unit, a 40va transformer. In most cases, the hot side out of the transformer is most likely using a 3amp car fuse. Under NO circumstances do not ever increase the size of the fuse. After checking my amperage draw for heating/cooling, I have a heat pump, I found I have enough power (1.1) amps left usable to power this UV Light. This light uses up to 0.75a draw when on. So with that all said and done lets move on to the product itself. PROS: Product: UV Lamp, 1YR Bulb Life - 18W @ 24VAC - Length total is 17" Mounting Hardware: Comes with a Strong Magnetic Base for Easy installation. Also included is a 3/8" drill bit to make a hole into the casing and install one or both of the included clear rubber view ports. A ballast is included too. CONS: The "Item details" states "two UV bulbs" are included - Only one bulb is included in the actual package. Another HUGE con for me is the lack of Safety Stickers. This is UN-excusable. Blue Lights are extremely harmful to the eyes when viewed directly. Every brand I have ever purchased before this kit has had numerous safety warning stickers included. Other notes: I did not have a 120V outlet in my attic for a simple plug and play experience. If you do, then I recommend you get that one for easier installation. If you do decide to go with two internal units, you will need to install a separate transformer. I highly suggest getting an electrician or HVAC service technician to do that. So is it worth it? Simple answer is yes. At the price advertised I really did not expect two bulbs anyway. It is working as it should be for now. I download some photos of safety stickers and printed them out and taped to the units air-handler. I can recommend the product, however the lack of safety stickers being NOT included loses a star.
