Description

The Makita 16" 36cc chain saw (EA3601FRDB) combines a high power-to-weight ratio with easier starts & less vibration for a full range of applications. The 36cc engine delivers 2.4 HP & an engine Speed of 12, 800 rpm, with an easy start spring-assisted starter. For extreme conditions, the primer is engineered for efficient cold starting for efficient cold weather operation. Additional features include an tool-less chain tensioner, & an advanced vibration dampening system that is engineered to reduce vibration.

The idle is not as steady as expected, but I really like the way it runs. I knew it was not going to be a model made in 2022 or 2021 when I bought it. I could see that it was checked up on periodically by opening the box, but being in a box preserved it. I don't know why Amazon notes from the Manufacturer wrote that an 18" bar and chain were included. It is sold as a sixteen inch.     • Awesome power to weight
I bought this chain saw because of it's impressive power to weight ratio. I use it primarily to limb trees after dropping them. Makita is made by Dolmar and I recommend this chain saw to anyone who has a whole day of tree cutting and doesn't want to be arm sore!

    • Love it aside from the tool less chain tensioner
I would buy this chainsaw again but without the tool less chain tensioner. This is not my first chainsaw purchase. I've used the standard chain tensioner for years, never thought it was difficult or needed to be improved. The tool less version is way harder, slows me down, seems to come loose on its own, and when the bar on my saw needs to be replaced I'll look into getting the chain cover and whatever else is needed to convert to the standard chain tensioning method. Maybe it's user error, whatever, give me the two bolts and a scrench any day over the tool less thing. Aside from this it would get 5 stars, the chainsaw is fantastic, it's is easy to start, and light weight. ... show more

    • good saw minus the tool-less chain tensioner
well, after a few months with this saw - things i like: balanced & great power (better after a muffler mod) saws good. What i dislike: the tool-less chain tensioner, chain it comes loose no matter how tight you tighten that plastic thing - i hate it soooo much that im selling this saw and buying the same model with two screws manual tensioner. ... show more
