I used these to replace all the knobs on a POWERTEC router fence as the knobs on it were hard to get to and tighten. These work great, no more turning knobs, just flip the levers to loosen, make your adjustment, then flip them down to lock. As an added bonus they are the same color as the fence.

I recently installed a Rockler T-track in my workbench top, and lined it up intentionally to directly match the hole placement on my Porter-Cable dovetail jig. My goal was to use the track to hold down all sorts of things, but when I use the dovetail jig, I wanted to simply slide it into the track, tighten and get to work. Unfortunately all the various knobs are too wide, since the jig was intended to be mounted to a substrate then perhaps clamped down afterwards. That is, until I tried these cam clamps! The cam clamps are easy to adjust/tighten with minimal lateral clearance. As you see in the pictures, they hold the jig down with sufficient force and serve the desired purpose. I replaced the t-track bolts that came with these with shorter bolts I had on hand. The rubber washer combined with the metal washer ensures a tight grip without pulling too hard on the mounted t-track. Of note, I've come to realize Powertec track components are identical to Rockler track components (same manufacturer), and at a smaller price! ... show more

    • Faster than twist knobs but could use tweaking

These are meant to replace twist knobs for locking things into place along T-track (miter track in my case). Upward tension is generated by lever/cam action. I like them but have a few complaints. First, I wish that I got the 5/16" version. The metal/rubber washers don't provide a very stable surface for levering. The skinny 1/4" bolts allow too much tilt and play. Second, the system is very sensitive between too loose and too tight. Sometimes that sweet spot has the lever pointing towards my fence, and I cannot close them. Thicker rubber might allow more tolerance or maybe less cam action. Finally, at the sweet spot, they aren't particularly easy to close. I tried adding lubricant to the metal washer which helped a little. I will try a nylon washer to see if that improves the action/reduces stiction. ... show more

I was able to repair my bicycle stand! The original clip was a hard plastic that had worked well for over 15 years, but it snapped off, probably due to ozone or UV damage. All I needed to do was go to the hardware sore and buy a 5/16-18 x 4" full thread bolt and I was in business! Not what it was intended for but it works great ... show more
