Apologies, there was something stuck under the lid which prevented it from shutting the whole way. Once I was able to remove that piece, it worked as designed. I have to add that you have to tighten the lid to the maximum possible limit to prevent any spillage/pressure loss. Adjusting the stars accordingly. Overall, it is a sturdy piece of equipment. ----------------------------------------- This thing is a piece of crap. After a few months now, it leaks water and cannot build up pressure no matter how much I tighten the lid. Save your money and buy something else.

I had a stovetop pressure cooker for decades but eventually the lid broke and the manufacturer closed their business. I have tried the Ninja and InstaPot as pressure cookers but the meat was never soft. I can put a chuck roast in this and shred it with a fork when it is done. The only down side is that it does not have an indicator that the pressure has been reached, you have to listen to the sound and watch it spin out of control then you know it reached it pressure. I will say, I called customer service and they answered their phone without a lot of wait time and they were very helpful.

This seems to be a really well built pressure cooker. I probably caused my own problems by assuming that any pressure cooker could also be used as a pressure canner. I searched for a stainless steel model and was excited to find this one, however this model does not reach enough pressure to be used as a pressure canner, so I am unable to use the Star model for the reason I purchased it. I requested more info from MEGAFESA USA but have received no reply after a couple weeks, which is disappointing. However, I think the unit itself is a very good value for a stainless steel cooker.

The performance of the product is first rate. I pressure-fried chicken that would have impressed the Colonel. The downside is in the shipping. The first one arrived with a broken handle. Warily, I didn’t ship it back until the replacement arrived. Guess what? Another broken handle. I just removed the remaining unbroken handle and used it on the first unit. Other reviewers have also mentioned broken handles. One suggestion for users of this pressure cooker is to make sure that the lid is properly seated before using. It is very easy to lock down a misaligned lid, causing the unit to fail to come up to pressure.

I picked this pressure cooker because it lis like the one my mom used when I was growing up in France many years ago. I saw many meals prepared in that pressure cooker and it lasted for many many years. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles but i didn't want them anyway because most of the time they end up breaking or just unnecessary. I wanted simple, easy and safe to use. I am definitely so happy with this pressure cooker. It is so sturdy, simple and it heats the food so fast. This is a very nice explosion proof pressure cooker made in Spain. The lid secures easily and assures its safety. It cleans easily and the stainless steel has a nicely polished body. It cooks well on my glass topped stove and also with gas in my camper. I am very happy with this purchase and highly recommend.
