My wife has recently moved away from All-Clad to Made In cookware. I don't fully understand the motivation--both are expensive and seem pretty similar--but she's very happy with this stock pot. This pot is all-stainless, meaning that it is dishwasher safe (we hand-wash Made In pans that have a non-stick cook surface). At six (6) quarts, it's a bit smaller than a bit stock pot, but as our kids have left the house, we don't need a giant stock pot as much anymore. Smaller doesn't necessarily mean all that much lighter--this is a very heavy duty pot, and it has the weight to match. The pot has a heavy duty, multi-layered bottom. It takes a little while to heat up, but it heats very evenly and seems to retain heat well. We have only been using the pot for a few weeks, but it's already become a favorite. We've roasted a chicken in the oven in it--and it was easier to clean up than the traditional Le Creuset Dutch oven / casserole pot that she normally uses. She's made stock with it, cooking down ingredients for 12+ hours. I see it as the large pot that will hold enough boiled / mashed potatoes to feed an entire Thanksgiving extended family. This is an expensive pot, so look for times when it is on sale. That said, I think this has potential to be a lifetime purchase. There's really nothing that can wear out, and the heavy sides are likely to be dent-resistant if dropped. Recommended. ... show more

LOVE. If you are on the fence on taking the leap into purchasing Made In, TAKE THE LEAP! I SO regret not having gotten Made In a few years back. Yes, they have a big price tag, but first of all, these will truly be the last pans you ever buy bc the quality is truly unmatched. These are made to last a lifetime, and the first time you hold one in your hands, you will see and feel the quality. Cleanup is a breeze. And if you follow the directions about cooking with stainless, these are truly nonstick and awesome. And if you can't afford a set, do what I did, which is to purchase a few interchangeable pieces that will get you through most any recipe. This 6 qt. Size: 12 QT - Stock Pot
I recently purchased the made-in 8 qt and 12 qt stockpots, as well as the 3 qt saucier. Their 5-ply construction is impressive and it looks, feels and performs as a high-quality product. There is nothing flimsy or cheap about this cookware, imo. The lids fit tightly, the pots sit evenly on my gas burners, they heat evenly and are easy to clean (now that I've learned how to *Properly* cook with stainless I've had no problems with food sticking). I haven't had any issues with 'staining' as some reviewers say, but I suspect that is either from the type of water you have, detergent used or that sort of thing. Also, I am short so I especially like that the stockpots are 'low profile' - they are short and wide rather than tall. With minimal care this cookware should last many years, especially for the home cook - but I could easily see using this cookware in a commercial application. For the price I don't think you could do any better. I definitely recommend to anyone looking for very sturdy cookware that is also attractive. ... show more

I know many get the 8 quart pot, but since it’s just the two of us and space in our kitchen cabinets is at a premium, we got the 6 quart. This has served our needs very well. We make homemade stock every week. It’s a sturdy, well-crafted pot, and well-suited for a couple or smaller household.

Great Pot. Made In makes great products. I’m in the process of replacing all my old “hyped up” non-stick Pots and Skillets that scratches and never stood the test of time and forbid you used the wrong mixing spoon on the wrong Pot is like boom, money in the trash. All my Made In cookware looks good as new, just don’t let it burn or you’re going to need some stainless steel cleaner and elbow grease to get it back to its original shiny sleek self. Stovetop Cooking heat control is critical with stainless steel. If you need a pot to be screaming hot on stove top, get you a Cast Iron (never leave soaking in water). ... show more
