Wow, I don't normally review anything but I will take my time to do so. This was not free unlike most reviews here so this comes from non vine reviewer. This unit is amazing and well built. I have an Android and the App is solid with an enhanced mode. The temp readings are impressively close to accurate. Not sure why the need to spend more on other units unless you need more than 800+ degree sensory. At first was a blast checking things for fun, night time use etc. But on the serious side will be of great value for home use testing to unsure safety. Also, the case is good and comes with a great cable to extend with those with deep cases or extended use. While I usually change mind a lot on my purchases wanting to upgrade to better, I won't be here in this case. .

I have been wanting to purchase a thermal camera since one of my friends showed me a cell phone he bought which had a thermal camera built-in. I went back and forth between buying a phone like that and an external camera, and am completely content with this unit. I held off on buying one for a while as I didn't know if I could justify the cost (as they are exactly cheap) but am happy I finally got one. Some things I noticed: - Extension cable is quite handy when you want to use the camera in harder to reach areas/angles. - It has a TISR "image super resolution" mode which does seem to clean up the images, though only slightly (comparing the 2 pictures of my dogs sleeping). - There is a frequent clicking sound as others have mentioned. I feel like it is performing some sort of automatic calibration as it seems to happen most when I move the camera between objects of varying temperatures. - Fits fine even with my phone case, though I do worry that it might slip out as it doesn't get as tight of a connection with my phone. I just need to be a little careful. - It is useful for finding gaps in insulation and around doors/windows. I look forward to sealing things up and seeing some energy savings. - I easily found the app which is intuitive to use and has some interesting settings and reports available, though I haven't had a chance to play around with them yet. - I find it really interesting to look at everyday objects and see their inner workings, like the seat and steering wheel heaters in my car, my computer's dock etc. Overall I am very happy with this camera, and I doubt that I will run out of uses for it.

Though there is a windows app that you can download from the vendor's website called TCView 2.0, when I install the app on my Windows 11 laptop and reboot as requested, it does not work. I start the windows app up and plug in the camera. The app indicated the camera has been found and then immediately exits. If I plug in the camera first and then start the app, the app says no device is found. There is no support link or email address for the vendor, so this product may get returned. On the plus side, the camera and associated app on my android phone does work as expected.

I recently purchased the M256 Thermal Imager, and I have been very impressed with its performance. Setting it up was incredibly easy—after installing the ThermCam app, it connected right away without any issues. One of the most useful things about this device is how well it detects air leaks. I was able to find gaps in my doors where cold air was coming in, as well as cold spots behind my exterior wall outlets. It also helped me identify areas in my ceiling that need more insulation. The thermal imager has a clear resolution making it super clear to what you are seeing. See photos. The darker the area the colder it is. If you feel around those areas you can at times feel air flow. Beyond just improving insulation, I realized that the gaps in my doors are probably allowing bugs inside during warmer months. Now that I can see exactly where these issues are, I’m excited to fix them and see if it helps reduce pests in my home come the warmer months. Overall, this thermal imager is a great tool for home improvement, making it easy to spot problem areas that would be difficult to see otherwise. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to improve insulation, detect drafts, or troubleshoot heating and cooling issues.

Device was well packaged and is supplied with a small padded case to house the camera unit and a USB extension cable. As often with these types of devices, I had to remove the protective case from my phone to use the camera connected directly to the phone. The adapter cable is a great way to make this work without taking my case off and the handy carrying case keeps everything neat and tidy. The width of the camera is nearly identical to that of my phone, so it doesn't get in the way. Once I installed the ThermCam app and began to use the camera, I found the image quality is pretty good, especially given the price. It was easily enough to inspect the walls of my house for gaps in the insulation and ensure all A/C ducts were connected after contractors did some remodel work in my attic. It was sensitive enough to even see footprints on the floor for quite a while after my child walked by on carpet and tile, so it can clearly see temperature differences of just a few degrees. All images stored in the app are easily found in a separate folder in my phone's photo gallery, so I can quickly pull them up and share them through the usual methods. All in all, I'm pleased with the purchase!

No instructions besides a picture card on app install. My temperatures are in Celsius and have no idea how to change them to Fahrenheit. Can't change the focal length. So far, not impressed with the quality of the images or the usefulness of this device. Disappointing.

I bought this camera as a gift. It was delivered on time. I've seen the results of the photos and I am impressed. I will be buying one for myself. The camera will be used for professional pictures, but, it is also a fun thing to play around with. The two pictures are; Cat with the temperature readings, and the footprints left behind after cat visited the water bowl.
