Sept 8 2022, Saw Costco sell these so I gave it a shot, Went to Homedepot and bought a 10/3 tools cable and a dryer plug to make the connection. Easy to install if you read the instruction. I used this to charge a BMW X5 Xdrive45e to fully charge from empty in 5hrs. Would be faster for other EV. Revise: 09/22/2022 after a few weeks of usage, one of the locking clip is broken, so i decided to drop a star due to production quality ... show more

Seems to work well. One electrical connection didn’t work well but I fashioned a workaround and everything is good.

    • Error on disconnect
I had an electrician install it. It seemed to work fine and charged at the advertised rate. When I disconnected the plug, the unit turned red with an error message any a control pilot and short-circuit. The unit won't charge now. I turned power off using the circuit breaker and turned it back on. Charging worked fine but it had the same issue on disconnect. I'm returning the product. ... show more

    • Charge should be hard wired
Plug in chargers require a GFCI breaker. This charger has a built in GFCI which will conflict with circuit breaker if used with a plug in cord. It will work but breaker trips will be frequent. This is probably reason for negative reviews
