  • Multi-room music for a much better value than Sonos
Color: Black Style: Home 150
We listen to a lot of music. The problem is our record player, TV, and the rest of our home theater was in the main living room but we spend a lot of time in the kitchen as well. Our Echo Dot was no longer cutting it, and you really couldn't sync music between rooms. Denon boasted that their HEOS system would work flawlessly across devices so we decided to try out the Home 150. I can honestly say, I'm blown away with the quality, sound, and ease of use. Since we already had our AVR setup on WiFi, and already had the HEOS app, all we had to do was have our phones locate the speaker and sync with the system. The main feature that I didn't think would work well, was putting on a record in one room, and being able to listen to it in multiple rooms at the same time. This speaker does just that with barely any noticeable syncing issues or lag. The built in Alexa also made the update from the Echo seamless as we use Alexa's features quite often. Normally I'm someone too that has to sit and tinker with a speaker or setup to get it to sound right and honestly, no adjustments needed as long as you follow the instructions during first time use. I highly reccomend this to anyone that is already in the Denon ecosystem and doesn't want to pay the inflated prices for Sonos. ... show more

  • Look no further
Color: Black Style: Home 250
I bought one Denon Home 250 for the master bed and two Denon Home 150 for the other bedrooms upstairs. Figuring the app out, connecting to Alexa then adding devices took a bit of work but now that it is set up, multiroom works perfectly. I play from Alexa or direct from Spotify. Sometimes have to go back to the app to set the volume balance between the rooms but it works once you know what to look for. Sound is superior. The 250 has a good bass and is very clear across the spectrum. The smaller carry themselves well as secondary speakers or for smaller room. I can highly recommend this product. ... show more

  • A solid HEOS speaker, but pricey
Color: White Style: Home 150
I have a HEOS receiver and the concept of placing these speakers around the house versus wiring the house is a great option. We have two and I'd like to get a third. They're easy to set up, sleek looking, come in black or white, and sound decent for their size. Cons: Overpriced. If you're going to get 3 of them to place around the house, you're spending $500 all in to do so. I feel like these should be $100 each or at least be sold in 2, 3, 4 speaker sets that average $100/speaker. I also hate that it has no battery backup for moving it around. It uses AC power only, so if you have one that you want to roam with, say from inside to outside, you have to unplug it, plug it back in elsewhere and let it boot up and connect to wi-fi all over again., It seems like it would be easy for these to have a small rechargeable battery that at least provides 10 minutes of backup power for continuous operation so you could move it without losing connection. ... show more

  • WI-FI setup is difficult
Color: White Style: Home 150 NV
# Setup requires a cable Neither Denon customer or technical support could help me connect the speaker to a home network (WIFI) using the app (the suggested setup). With an ethernet cable to connect the speaker to a router or modem, setup was then very easy. THEN, you can use WIFI. Denon technical support told me I should have been prepared to use a cable for setup. The only documentation I found on the Denon website described the ethernet connection as an option/feature and not a _requirement_ for setup. I have a speaker purchased in September 2024 and a speaker purchased in May 2025 (different packaging) & the app has been updated a few times but the cable is still required. During a recent attempt to setup, I get the same error messages as in September... # Bluetooth without setup is an option w/ inconvenience Without setting up the speaker, long-press the Bluetooth button (2-3 seconds) and it is then possible to pair the speaker with a computer and, I suppose a phone. Of course, not properly setup, the speaker will not connect to streaming services and etc. You can play music from computer to the speaker but, when inactive, the speaker turns itself off (properly setup, the speaker goes into standby). You have to turn the speaker on but, when it is all booted up and happy, the computer will not join with the speaker. You don't have to re-pair the speaker but you have to re-connect... once re-connected, the volume will be muted (I guess to protect the speaker). If you don't hear anything, check MUTE. [to add: even using the Denon 150NV with the miniplug 1/8" input is difficult, if the speaker is not first set up. First, the speaker turns off rather than going to stand-by and, after it boots, a minute or so of pressing the little buttons on top of the speaker is required to get it to recognize/switch to the input via miniplug. The speaker will not just switch to that miniplug input when it detects music...] # End of songs snipped when using Bluetooth Using a streaming service via WIFI, the ends of any songs are not snipped; those play fine. But when playing via Bluetooth from a computer, the last half moment of the song is not played. I don't know if 'snipped' is the correct word but it is distracting. This happens with both speakers I have and is the same on the speaker correctly setup with the app and the speaker playing by Bluetooth without setup. I don't think it is the software I use to play my MP3. I use the 1/8" miniplug jack for a direct connection to the speaker and the end of songs are not snipped. I connect to a cheap portable battery powered speaker ($30) by Bluetooth and no snipping. This is comparing the same tracks (both purchased from Amazon & ripped from CD) and the same MP3 playing software & computer settings. # The speaker has some good features > Sirius XM works fine & you can select a specific channel as preset! > Buttons on top w/ 3 presets allow operation without having to grab a phone!! > option with no voice/microphone tracking is available - Once setup, switching between a streaming service (Sirius for me) and computer Bluetooth works fine. Press a preset on tope of the speaker and Sirius plays. Wake the speaker from standby with the computer and Bluetooth plays. - Bass curve can be adjusted using an app selection [My Devices/Device_Name/Placement] 'corner', 'near wall', 'center of room' and this may help some complaints aboot heavy bass # 3 stars for difficult setup & poor BT playback Difficulty connecting the speaker to a home network is the trouble. Ethernet cable is required as well as a place to plug that ethernet cable in. Snipping the end of songs when using Bluetooth is not preferred... [I haven't had trouble connecting any other device to my network from phone to light to plug to internet radio. Denon is the odd man out.] ... show more

  • As always Denon quality is great
Color: Black Style: Home 150 NV
I’ve recently become a huge fan of Denon speakers. I have a wall mounted echo show 15 (speaker quality is nails on a chalkboard) I paired the Denon smart speaker (not this one) and as it sounded really good, the Echo and the smart speaker would constantly conflict. This speaker requires a “player” (smartphone, tablet, tv, echo show) which makes conflicting smart issues, not an issue. We have this blue tooth to our audiotechnica vinyl player and the echo show. Only issue is every now and then there seems to be a timeout on music (it’s random) seeing that we play the vinyl for hours and when we use our phones it’s not an issue, it’s probably the echo show. ... show more
