  • Perfect fit. Easy install. Would buy again.
Size: 9 Ft.
I was completely amazed! I fully expected this to be a real pain in the butt project. I have 2 nine foot wide metal garage doors so I ordered 2 strips. The order came quickly. The doors still had the original bottom seal on them from 20 years ago. That is, what was left of the seal. The material was torn and what remained had morphed into something hard and brittle. I could not believe that the remains of the old one slid out. Sliding it out did a pretty good job of cleaning the track but I used a small broom to make sure all the remaining debris was gone. I unrolled the new product and draped it over a six foot ladder. This kept the material at about the same height as the partially closed door and reduced the pull against me as I fed the strip into the track. I was surprised at how easy it was to feed the new strip with a simple push and pull motion. The whole process took me about 10 minutes per door. When complete there was about 3 inches of overhang on each end. That was too much and would not allow the door to close without hitting the rail supports. I used one of those cheap (dollar store) plastic razor knives that allow you to push out as much of the blade as you want. This was important because it is a pretty tight space and it allowed me to "saw" my way thru the strip. It took a little try and error to get it right but I ended up leaving about an inch overhang on each end. That seemed to work well. No clue how the product will hold up but I am very pleased at this point. Given the price and ease of installation if I have to redo this work in a few years then I would still be happy. ... show more

  • Good item, good price.
Size: 9 Ft.
Good fit, hard work. Not all easy (but I did not expect it to be). Best to clean bracket after removing what is left over from old seal. Then lube the track with silicone spray. Be sure to have a helper, not a 1-person job.

  • Great garage door weather strip
Size: 18 Ft.
This replacement weather strip works great on my 16 foot garage door that was originally installed in 2006. With two people it was very easy to install as one person gently pulls thru the door, while one person feeds the new strip into the end of the door. One person could install, however it was faster with one. If it won't slide easily, look for any spots in the track that may be dented in from a rock or something. We had one dent and used the claw of a hammer to gently align the track. ... show more

  • This is a 5/16" T
Size: 18 Ft.
This is a 5/16" T. Not mentioned anywhere in the description. After I de-installed my old seal I noticed that it might be a 1/4" T . Thing was so beat up it was hard to tell. So I said what the heck. Let me try this to see if it will work. So I was able to feed in about 5 inches with little effort. So I thought ok so far so good. Well after some laundry detergent, DW40 and silicone grease applied in every crevice and edge you can imagine-it finally began to slide the rest of the way. You will definitely need a helper. One to feed the seal and the other to pull. The good thing is you will not need to secure it with any screws cause it ain't gonna slide out. Morale of the story is - if you want an easy install - first partially de-install the old seal and measure the T. If it measures 1/4" do yourself a favor and order one of the products that definitely state 1/4". I think that extra 1/16" clearance would have made things a lot easier. Otherwise you can use this as a cheap way out and a bizarre experiment for team work that will take about an hour. ... show more

  • SO FAR, SO GOOD..! it works and stays in the track..
Size: 18 Ft.
SO FAR, SO GOOD..! Got both 18 ft. garage door bottom seals today and installed one on the 18 ft wide door replacing the other version which I am returning.. This one has a wider "T" and thus does not seem prone to falling out of the track.. it was a bit of a job sliding it into the 18 ft of track but I got it done.. maybe next time i'll use a bit of Vaseline (or that stuff used by electricians to lubricate long wire runs in conduit) to help lubricate the track.. I still need to replace the gasket on the 9 ft garage door.. NOTE: the plastic gasket material is longer than 18 ft by about 14 inches, more or less.. i'll edit this review and add pix to illustrate the differences in the two products.. and now I can't find or recall how to add pix to a review.. so much for adding pix.. i'll describe the two different products.. this product is 2 1/5 inches wide, the "T" ends are 5/16 wide.. the material weighs about 60 grams per foot of length vs. the other product that fell out of the doors which is 3 3.4 inches wide and the "T" ends are 3/16 inch wide and finally the weight is 53 grams per foot.. so from this one should be able to order the right product for your particular situation/application.. in short, this product is narrower and of heavier (thicker) material.. and so far is doing the job for me.. ... show more

  • Could be longer when installed
Size: 18 Ft.
It does work great but wish it was a inch longer when installed. Decent quality rubber.

  • Buy this one instead of the one from Home Depot's new supplier
Size: 18 Ft.
With our harsh Chicago winters and hot summers, these seals only last about 3-4 years, but the fit is perfect and installation is easy (with two people) on an 18' garage door bottom with the rails to hold the edges of the rubber seal. Used to buy M-D from Home Depot but they switched suppliers and the new brand is crap- poor fit and lasted one year, so I now order online to keep the same quality. ... show more
