Until the project is up on the list for replacement of this vintage property where previous owners installed a cheap front door am excited about this trim replacement in the meantime. Oscillating saw easily custom trims the length and sides. With an adjustment to the old flood trim this works perfect. Snug yet easily opens and closes. I particularly appreciate the solid design of this upgrade. Makes the base of door looks fancy shmancy 🏆 Highly recommend this door weatherization option. Wasn’t able to fully dry fit due to super snug. I cut away a 1/2 inch on each side along the front to not interfere with the insulation. Used a metal drill to start the holes once installed. I had to modify the floor transition as the previous was too high. Depending on your set up be aware other modifications might be required for a snug yet functional door opening and closing without impediment. Overall, super happy. This product saved my basement door. I had a steel door at the bottom of a basement stairwell that was severely rusted at the bottom. After sanding off the rust, applying some filler, and repainting, I shimmied this piece on (it requires some force) and screwed it in. It was a game changer.     • HD Aluminum Door Plate Bottom for a Fantastic Seal !
M-D Products 68593 is a Heavy Duty U-Shaped bottom door seal that works beautiful for those rotted out door bottoms to keep bugs and critters out where they belong. It is made to where it can slide on and hold in place since it is bent just right at the top to be a tight fit. Once you get it in place at the right height, then u just drill and screw it in permanent place. The screws that are provided are Not Stainless Steel so you may have to get some for exterior doors that get rained so they wont rust. This doubles as a kickplate since it is about 3”H x 36”L for a 1 3/4” thick door as it is taller than anything else out there. It saved me from having to replace my door. Glad I made this decision even though I thought it was priced a little high. ... show more

For whatever reason when we bought our house there were no door sweeps on the doors leading into the garage. We have two. These solved the huge 1.75” gaps. I had to cut mine because I can’t read but that just allowed me to use my tools which I enjoyed. Good value for two. Fit on the door easily. Rubber sweep “sealed” the deal.     • Great Fix to Old Door
This is a great fix to an old door that is broken at the bottom. Our door was so bad that some of the screws would not even want to stay in, therefore, I have to find another solution to hold it in place better in some areas, but so far, it's staying in with the few screws that are staying in. The cutting was not the easiest, as I don't have much strength to cut or perhaps the best of tools, but it was still possible to cut just a little bit to make it fit right. It would be nicer if it was just right for the door, but it was just slightly longer than we needed, therefore it had to be customized. The door is tight so we cannot use the bottom strip, but that's a great addition to metal part, if needed. I'm very pleased with this purchase and highly recommend it if you need to save your door until you can manage to have it replaced. I just need to figure out how to tighten the screws on the outside so that dirt does not accumulate from the top. Maybe, I will glue this on top of it to make sure it stays in place and that no dirt will get in from the top of it. But if your door can hold the screws like it should, you should not have that problem. ... show more
