So this definitely did work in my gray hair. Did not run or transfer like so many other reviews said. The initial color was pretty but there was no shine to it. That’s quite possibly because of my own hair type. But I won’t try it again also because it faded weird. Patchy and a little green. Again, gray hair beware. It’s probably my hair color and texture that influenced the negative results. ... show more

Lasts, and fades into an awesome mint tone if you lift enough first. It does stain, but I got it out of my grout with bleach spray. I had less luck with the caulk, but it’s pretty easy to replace

    • Worst dye I've ever used

I lightened my hair to about level eight before using this dye, I made sure it was even and it was only slightly dry after the bleaching so I figured the damage wasn't so bad that it would effect the color. Well I immediately knew it was going to be awful as soon as I started applying this dye. It wasn't taking to the strands, even with how light they were, it was just turning white like I was spreading conditioner through my hair. I did my whole head anyway and let it sit for the recommended time. After washing it out I was so horrified I immediately bleached my head again the next day to get rid of it because the idea of walking around like that was too embarrassing. It had taken so unbelievably unevenly to my hair I legitimately started tearing up. It was this sickly gross green in some parts, completely blonde still in others, and then a sort of turquoise blue in other patches. Absolutely beyond hideous. I still don't know how that happened. My hair was light enough for a fashion color, it wasn't damaged beyond some light dryness, I did an even application of the color, it sat for the appropriate amount of time yet it still turned out like somebody's baby got sick on my head. I will never ever let anyone I like or love use this hair dye after this experience. ... show more

I was so obsessed with this color at first. The first con was that I had to use the whole tub to get good coverage on my short, medium-thick hair, making this a lot less cost effective than Arctic fox or overtone. The second con and real kicker was that it faded so fast. Even with using a color depositing conditioner, the color totally faded to a gross gray-green after 3 weeks (about 6 tap-cold hair washes). Really wish the color lasted longer and had better coverage out of the bottle because this color is so unique and gorgeous. Just impossible to maintain... ... show more

I got both Smokey Teal and Smokey Navy...the colors were super vibrant and bright. My hair was kool-aid blue raspberry colored. The quality is good...just not the right color.
