As Lodge is known this griddle too is no different from the rest of the cast iron they make with the rougher finish texture. Can’t compare to the old smooth Griswold cast iron griddles of years past and I’ve got a few pieces of the vintage to know, however, these are great like the rest of the Lodge cast iron they manufacture today and they stand by them too. So...I've been spending too much money on a ritzy brand for their coccettes and felt I had to get their skillet to match. Something kept drawing me to Lodge instead. Then I saw the wildlife series. I already have a 10 inch other brand skillet. I wanted the bear (for California), the deer (for magic), or the wolf because I am a dog lover. Sadly, they didn't come in the size I needed, so I opted for the moose griddle. I've used it a few times already and I gotta say, I'm a Lodge fan now. I think it's 10 inches.
