At first Amazon first sent me the wrong product, I received two plastic mugs but they quickly corrected my order. The quality of lodge is still there. It's a little heavier than most other brands and antiques the same size but don't let that discourage you. The inside is a bit rough at first but after a good scrub with a chain scrubber and a few new layers applied the finish on the dutch oven smoothes right out. ... show more

Another great Lodge Dutch oven! I use this when camping on my camp Dutch oven cooking table so I can stand, rather than getting on the ground. We bake all kinds of things in this from giant cinnamon rolls, to bread to cakes. You can make a parchment paper liner (or buy them) to make clean up a breeze. The item arrived in short order and the finish and quality was what I expected. There are less expensive dutch ovens and cast iron cookware available but I chose to pay a little extra for piece of mind regarding the purity of the cast iron. I feel like I have to worry less about lead and other impurities as opposed to imported products whose manufacturers have no accountability. The packaging could have been a little better as there were some bare spots on the lid where the seasoning flaked off from being transported and thrown around. I have read some complaints about the inside of the cookware being unfinished (rough cast) and that is true. If you want to pay $300 for an antique Griswold Dutch Oven or $150 for a skillet with a smooth bottom knock yourself out. I am sure Lodge could do the same thing but I wouldn't have paid those kind of prices for something this simple. Keep your cookware seasoned properly and it will work just fine. ... show more

I bought this as a gift for my husband, he had been wanting one for a long time and I am finally got it. Only thing I got wrong was he wanted eight inch or bought twelve. Now he loves the twelve inch and said he even liked it better. Highly recommend the Chicken and rice.

I really love this pot, its useful for all my cooking needs! need a stew over open flame, its got you. Need a toaster, put it on the lid directly on the fire or while its covering the food in pot. need a camp oven, throw some food in it, put the lid on, and cover this thing in coals! i love the many uses for it! ... show more
