October 23, 2025 addendum: I bought the Lodge 13.25" cast iron skillet cover that fits this and the cover, together with this skillet, produced the best burger I've ever eaten. I also bought and used the Volvoly Extra Wide Spatula, Large Metal Spatula with Full Tang Wooden Handle & Beveled Edges for Skillets, Griddles & Grills, Pancake Flipper Turner, Smash Burgers Turner, 6 x 5-inches, and recommend you buy this as well; you don't need to buy a separate "smash burger press" because the Volvoly Extra Wide Spatula is used to smash down on the burger and turn it over, not just turn it over. That is how the pros smash down on burgers, with the spatula. This cast iron skillet looks amazing and the size is perfect. Although it says 13.5" the base that sits on the electric stove is 11.5" which is identical to the diameter of the largest range spot on a standard electric stove. This is ideal for any kind of stove. I initially ordered and returned this skillet because I heard that iron and other chemicals can leach into one's food; but after further research, I learned that although some iron can leach into food, this is in fact beneficial, and that in fact non harmful chemicals leach into one's food (unlike with non-stick skillets, that do leach harmful chemicals into one's food). Thus, I re-ordered this terrific skillet today. Best of all, when I received my Lodge skillet (this same model that I foolishly returned) it said USA on it (NOT you know where). ... show more
