I’ve always trusted Lodge pans for their quality and durability. I picked this item because of that and also because of the beautiful design on the bottom. I also like the dual handles versus the single long handle. I purchased this primarily for my camper due to its space saving design. I used it in my home several times now already and can’t wait to use it at the campground. I bought the optional Lodge brand silicone handle protectors (also on Amazon) to make it easier and safer to handle the pan when it’s hot. This pan heats evenly and cooks beautifully. Terrific for browning meat and then popping directly in the oven to finish. It caramelizes vegetables wonderfully and cast-iron is very easy to clean and maintain. I love the design on the back! Also love that it doesn’t have a long handle. It fits easier in my stove top and in my cabinet. It’s easier all around. I love how well it sears and frys and it’s perfect for reheating. I use it every single day and want another one.

There is nothing wrong with the quality of lodge products. I have plenty of them. Just a note… In the US the entry doors is almost always on the passenger side of the camper for safety reasons.

    • Wanderlust vs Classic Lodge
The MSRP for the Lodge 10.25" Classic two handled pan is $20.95, and the MSRP for the Wanderlust version of the same pan is $23.95. However, the current price on Amazon is $32.25, which is the only reason I'm marking it down a star. The Wanderlust is the updated product line from Lodge. It's the exact same material, seasoning, etc. The only difference are a few design changes. The Wanderlust is a bit more curved on the bottom/inside (slightly wok-shaped), where as the Classic pan is more cylindrical, with more perpendicular walls. The Wanderlust has the attractive embossed camping image on the bottom. And, the biggest distinction - the Classic has a grill shaped bottom with ridges, and the Wanderlust has a flat bottom. Both can be used indoor or outdoor, gas or electric stove, etc. Both are the same weight. After testing dozens of different brands of pans, my advice is go with Lodge. They're just as good as brands twice the price. And I have found potential quality problems with cast iron pans from china. Just stick with Lodge. They're very affordable, and have every imaginable shape and size available. Final note - do NOT get the Lodge (or any cast iron) with a nonstick coating. It defeats the purpose of cast iron, and I consider it a health and safety issue. Just get the traditional cast iron without any coating or enamel. ... show more

I bought this for my parents to use in their RV because it's smaller and will fit their RV stove better. Also because it has 2 helper handles which makes it easier for them to move it around. Unfortunately it never made it out to the camper. While seasoning it, my mom decided she loved the helper handles so much, it's now a "house" pan. ... show more
