Features

  • YOUR GO-TO DUTCH OVEN: A flawless pairing of form and function that doesn't quit. The Lodge Dutch Oven not only makes your kitchen look good but is an enameled cast iron classic great for preparing and serving memorable meals. Broil, braise, bake or roast your favorite meals in the oven up to 500 Degree F.
  • WHAT IS PORCELAIN ENAMEL ON CAST IRON. It is glass that becomes bonded to the cast iron at high temperatures. A particulate of glass, called frit, is applied to the cast iron vessel and then baked at temperatures between 1200 and 1400 F. The glass frit melts and fuses to the cast iron, forming a bond. Porcelain enamel on cast iron is heat tolerant and impervious to water and other consumables.
  • EASY TO COOK AND CLEAN: The porcelain enameled interior has a smooth finish that minimizes sticking, promotes caramelization and resists staining. Although enameled cast iron is dishwasher safe, hand washing with warm soapy water and a nylon scrub brush is recommended to keep your Dutch Oven in tip top shape
  • HEAT RETENTION: The cast iron vessel has superior heat distribution and retention, evenly heating throughout both the bottom and sidewalls. The tightly fitting lid seals in moisture for scrumptious pot roast, stews or a large batch of beans. Our heat retention also reduces the amount of energy needed for cooking.
  • FAMILY-OWNED. Lodge is more than just a business; its a family. The Lodge family founded the company in 1896, and they still own it today. From environmental responsibility to community development, their heads and hearts are rooted in America. Products made with non-toxic, PFOA & PTFE free material.

Description

This 6-Quart enamel Dutch oven is great for cooking, marinating, refrigeration and freezing. The color porcelain enamel on cast iron can be used on gas, electric, ceramic and induction cooktops, as well as in the oven. Not recommended for use on outdoor grills or over open outdoor flames. Not for use in microwaves. Lodge Color Porcelain Enamel on Cast Iron cookware is cast from molten iron in individual sand molds. The porcelain surface eliminates the need to season cast iron. The cast iron vessel has superior heat distribution and retention, evenly heating bottom sidewalls and even the lid. Tightly fitting lid seals in moisture. The excellent heat retention reduces the amount of energy needed for cooking. Two layers of very hard, glossy porcelain enamel are chip resistant and easy to clean. Stainless steel lid knob is oven safe to 500 degrees Fahrenheit. The black rim on the pot is matte porcelain, not exposed cast iron. Hygienic porcelain enamel is non-reactive with food. Although dishwasher safe, hand washing with warm soapy water is recommended to preserve the cookware's original appearance. Made in China.

Color: Evergreen
As a self-porclaimed Dutch oven addict (yes, obsessed and proud!), I’ve made it my mission to collect every color, shape, and brand out there—from the budget-friendliest basic ones to the crown jewels like Le Creuset and Staub. So believe me when I say: this Lodge deserves its moment in the spotlight! First of all, the color—that rich, deep green shade—is absolutely stunning. It adds a pop of elegance to my kitchen whether it’s in use or on display. But beautiy aside, this pot is solid. It’s heavy, well-crafted, and retains heat like a dream. The enamel coating is smooth and easy to clean, and the lid fits perfectly, locking in the moisture and flavor with every use. The 6-quart size is my go-to sweet-spot—pefect for hearty stews, braised short ribs, baked sourdough, creamy Mac and cheese, roasted chickens, or even cobblers. I’ve slow-cooked beans in it all day, used it to deep-fry chicken, nad even served a table-side chili straight from it — talk about versatility! I’m a Lodge-girly anyway — like Lodge NEVERRRRRR fails me! Whether you’re just starting your cast iron journey or your’re already knee-deep in Dutch ovens like me, this Lodge is a workhorse you’ll reach for time and time again. Why? Cause it delivers upscale performance without the upscale price—and it looks amazing doing it. Get yourself one and you’ll see why I am a Lodge-lady!!! ... show more

  • Reliable, Versatile, and Durable – A Kitchen Workhorse
Color: Blue
We purchased this Lodge 6 Quart Enameled Cast Iron Dutch Oven back in 2021, and it has become an indispensable part of our kitchen. After years of consistent use, we can confidently say that this Dutch oven is a top-tier product in both performance and durability. We use it for a wide variety of dishes—from slow-cooked collard greens and hearty beef braises to delicate risottos—and it handles each task exceptionally well. The enameled surface heats evenly, retains heat beautifully, and is easy to clean, even after long cooking sessions. Pros: • Exceptional heat retention and distribution – Ideal for both low and high heat cooking. • Versatility – Works great on the stovetop and in the oven for a wide range of recipes. • Durability – After several years, the enamel coating has held up well with no chipping or staining. • Easy to clean – Residue comes off easily with gentle scrubbing; no need for harsh cleaners. Cons: • Weight – As with most cast iron cookware, it’s quite heavy, which may be a consideration for some users. Overall, this Dutch oven offers excellent value and performance. If you’re looking for a reliable, multi-purpose piece of cookware that will last for years, this is an outstanding choice. ... show more

  • LODGE porcelain enamel cookware... Terrific Value
Color: Island Spice Red
This is an easy product to like.! I have been a user and a fan of cast iron cookware for a long time. We used it 50 - 60 years ago while I was growing up and I continue to use it today. There are several good manufacturers of cast iron cookware on the market today. And there are even more if you consider the ones from the not-so-distant past.! But most of them were of the standard "black" or "grey" iron construction. It is only in the more recent past (say maybe the last ten or fifteen years..) that enameled porcelain has been used as a surface treatment for cast iron cookware. The advantages are many, but for me ease of maintenance and the ability to cook acid ingredients without damaging the pot or causing off-tastes in the food are what make me give these "new-fangled" cast iron pots a try. Lodge is one of the names that almost everyone has heard of (in the cast iron cookware business..). I am very happy to see that they have now decided to join the growing trend toward coated cast iron. The Lodge name on this pot was enough to make my decision for me. I have wondered about these pots for several years..... now I know the answer. I guess it doesn't matter too much which brand you choose, these coated pots are FAR better than the older style CI pots for cooking stews or soups or anything that contains tomatoes or other acid ingredients. For these tasks, these coated pots are perfect. I decided to make the purchase when I discovered that Lodge had seemingly broken through the price barrier and their pots were available at a much better price point than other brands (which I won't mention here..). I was pleased to see this addition to the Lodge line and jumped at the possibility to own one of these pots without raiding my 401K or seeing a banker for a loan.!! If you base your buying decision on performance alone, you will have a difficult decision. There are several brands available... all of which are top quality products. It is when you factor in VALUE that the Lodge line seems to rise to the top. This is a top quality product, beautifully made and finished, that cooks like pots that cost double or triple the amount. I made my decision based on value. I bought this pot because I wanted one... and I could justify the expense of THIS one. It does the job perfectly. It cooks just like you would expect a Lodge pot to cook. And it looks beautiful as well. The bottom line was price. Since I chose this Lodge pot, I can now afford to buy a second one of a different size.!! Yay.!! Give one of these a try. Top quality + Decent price = VALUE. Highly recommended. You cannot go wrong with this. ... show more

  • 1/5 the cost of the other brand, does as good a job & looks great.
Color: Blue
Can't really tell the difference between this and our LeCreuset, other than this being 1/5 the price. I wanted a nice pot for baking sourdough where I wouldn't be bothered if it got tarnished (500° temp for sourdough). Done three loaves and it's working like a champ. Any marks clean right off. Great price, renowned brand and quick shipping. ... show more

  • You Don't Need A Euro Dutch Oven
Color: Midnight Chrome
Amazing DO. If you've spent hours scouring sales thinking you need to own a European brand to yield great results, consider this review your green light to purchase this much more economical version. Fantastic little piece of equipment! I own several other cast iron Lodge products, from camping gear to everyday practical use skillets, and it's just a hardy brand. Give this Dutch Oven a try and if you find that you keep cooking with it and desire more, then spend the big bucks on a fancier make. Chances are likely that once you begin to use it and improve your cooking skills, you won't find the need to drop extra cash on a sleeker product. **Personally, I love the Midnight Chrome color, which also happened to be the least expensive at the time I purchased. It's truly beautiful and looks modern enough for my kitchen!** ... show more
