Features

  • YOUR GO-TO DUTCH OVEN: A flawless pairing of form and function that doesn't quit. The Lodge Dutch Oven not only makes your kitchen look good but is an enameled cast iron classic great for preparing and serving memorable meals. Broil, braise, bake or roast your favorite meals in the oven up to 500 Degree F.
  • WHAT IS PORCELAIN ENAMEL ON CAST IRON. It is glass that becomes bonded to the cast iron at high temperatures. A particulate of glass, called frit, is applied to the cast iron vessel and then baked at temperatures between 1200 and 1400 F. The glass frit melts and fuses to the cast iron, forming a bond. Porcelain enamel on cast iron is heat tolerant and impervious to water and other consumables.
  • EASY TO COOK AND CLEAN: The porcelain enameled interior has a smooth finish that minimizes sticking, promotes caramelization and resists staining. Although enameled cast iron is dishwasher safe, hand washing with warm soapy water and a nylon scrub brush is recommended to keep your Dutch Oven in tip top shape
  • HEAT RETENTION: The cast iron vessel has superior heat distribution and retention, evenly heating throughout both the bottom and sidewalls. The tightly fitting lid seals in moisture for scrumptious pot roast, stews or a large batch of beans. Our heat retention also reduces the amount of energy needed for cooking.
  • FAMILY-OWNED. Lodge is more than just a business; its a family. The Lodge family founded the company in 1896, and they still own it today. • Purchased this 5 times!!!
Color: Oyster White
I have purchased the Lodge 6qt round Dutch oven FIVE times, the 7qt oval Dutch oven once, AND the 3.25qt braiser (all in the white color) several times for myself and for gifts (not to mention the countless skillets purchased to go with the Dutch ovens/braisers, lol). As someone who was a huge Le Creuset fan, you can't beat the price of the Lodge. In my experience, they have both held up about the same. I use both brands simultaneously and have enjoyed getting to give the Lodge brand as gifts. They are something that, if taken care of, will last a lifetime. The Oyster White color is my favorite - it's not a true white, but is a very nice neutral color and will coordinate with pretty much anything. ... show more

  • Gave me perfect corned beef brisket
Color: Lilac
I bought this specifically for corned beef brisket and OMG… it came out so tender, so perfect, it was so good I almost cried lol. One thing I will say is that the lilac color was more indigo/purple-blue than I was expecting (it’s not pinkish like in the photos)! Still beautiful but I was initially wondering if I was sent the wrong color. ... show more

  • great product, great value
Color: Midnight Chrome
After researching Dutch ovens, and based on the Wirecutter (NYT) recommendation, I purchased this Lodge Dutch oven. I don't cook a lot and couldn't justify splurging on Staub or Le Creuset. Fortunately, you don't have to spend crazy money to get a great product and a great cooking result. I've only used it a few times, but the cooking results were very even with great heat retention and distribution. Very well made, sturdy, and easy to clean. I love it. ... show more

  • Love this Dutch Oven
Color: Lagoon
I bought this dutch oven because it was love at first sight with the color! I've baked amazing breads, made killer ribs and stews in it. After a few months it still looks like new. Clean up is a breeze. I follow the directions for heating and cleaning and have had no issues at all!

  • Nice and heavy
Color: Evergreen
Great value! I have a 130 year old cast iron skillet and I wanted something to cook meals that can't be done with normal cast iron. No need to spend $400 on other enameled cast iron Dutch ovens. This has a very impressive finish and it's survived my fiance cooking her fake meat which sticks like crazy. ... show more

  • Healthier alternative
Color: Lilac
I love my lilac purple Dutch oven. Not overly heavy, cleans like a dream, and is the perfect size for sourdough bread! You have to hack it first and understand the vessel which is the Dutch oven though. For example: heat the whole thing up on the stove until water makes little bubbles and dances off the bottom of the pan and evaporates when given a little splash, that’s how you’ll know you can add your oil or fat and cook whatever you like without sticking! That’s of course unless it’s burnt/burning. That’s different. Cleaning for another example is just a swish around with warm salt water or if you have a stain that’s particularly hard to get off, baking soda and water for 8-10 minutes on a low simmer should have you looking like new again. I can tell the difference between a steak cooked the same way on my Rachel ray teflon pans vs. my Dutch oven. I feel like after some good use and accumulated “seasoning” of my Dutch oven, my food tastes better when compared to my old cooking. It also makes me feel better than it’s non-toxic and I’m not putting forever chemicals in my body like with other materials. Only con, the handles get really hot and if you forget that the handles get just as hot as the rest of the pot, you’ll get badly burnt. I’m not sure if there’s any way around that other than having your oven mits around throughout the whole cooking session. ... show more

  • Love it!!!
Color: Indigo
The Lodge dutch oven is beautiful (I got indigo) and absolutely the same quality as the famous brand, but you’ll save hundreds of dollars! It looks and performs the same. I just made the first chili of the fall season in it and am thrilled. You won’t regret buying this product!

  • Beautiful & Well Made
Color: Lagoon
I bought this because Lodge caste iron posts were rated the best economy pot in an article I found when researching caste iron pots. I’ve only had it a month or so now, but it’s been a joy to have this bright pretty pot on my stove, it holds heat well, it’s not too heavy, but heavy enough to hold heat well and not slide accidentally on the burner, food cooks well in it, and it’s easy to clean—cleaning by hand is recommended. We’ll see how it holds up over time, but I’m guessing it will and I’m glad to have such a nice pot. ... show more
