Features

  • YOUR GO-TO DUTCH OVEN: A flawless pairing of form and function that doesn't quit. The Lodge Dutch Oven not only makes your kitchen look good but is an enameled cast iron classic great for preparing and serving memorable meals. Broil, braise, bake or roast your favorite meals in the oven up to 500 Degree F.
  • WHAT IS PORCELAIN ENAMEL ON CAST IRON. It is glass that becomes bonded to the cast iron at high temperatures. A particulate of glass, called frit, is applied to the cast iron vessel and then baked at temperatures between 1200 and 1400 F. The glass frit melts and fuses to the cast iron, forming a bond. Porcelain enamel on cast iron is heat tolerant and impervious to water and other consumables.
  • EASY TO COOK AND CLEAN: The porcelain enameled interior has a smooth finish that minimizes sticking, promotes caramelization and resists staining. Although enameled cast iron is dishwasher safe, hand washing with warm soapy water and a nylon scrub brush is recommended to keep your Dutch Oven in tip top shape
  • HEAT RETENTION: The cast iron vessel has superior heat distribution and retention, evenly heating throughout both the bottom and sidewalls. The tightly fitting lid seals in moisture for scrumptious pot roast, stews or a large batch of beans. Our heat retention also reduces the amount of energy needed for cooking.
  • FAMILY-OWNED. Lodge is more than just a business; its a family. The Lodge family founded the company in 1896, and they still own it today. From environmental responsibility to community development, their heads and hearts are rooted in America. Products made with non-toxic, PFOA & PTFE free material.

Description

This 6-Quart enamel Dutch oven is great for cooking, marinating, refrigeration and freezing. The color porcelain enamel on cast iron can be used on gas, electric, ceramic and induction cooktops, as well as in the oven. Not recommended for use on outdoor grills or over open outdoor flames. Not for use in microwaves. Lodge Color Porcelain Enamel on Cast Iron cookware is cast from molten iron in individual sand molds. The porcelain surface eliminates the need to season cast iron. The cast iron vessel has superior heat distribution and retention, evenly heating bottom sidewalls and even the lid. Tightly fitting lid seals in moisture. The excellent heat retention reduces the amount of energy needed for cooking. Two layers of very hard, glossy porcelain enamel are chip resistant and easy to clean. Stainless steel lid knob is oven safe to 500 degrees Fahrenheit. The black rim on the pot is matte porcelain, not exposed cast iron. Hygienic porcelain enamel is non-reactive with food. Although dishwasher safe, hand washing with warm soapy water is recommended to preserve the cookware's original appearance. Made in China.

  • Great quality for a great price and an awesome look from an iconic brand
Color: Oyster White
I bought this as an affordable dutch oven for my sourdough baking project. Not knowing if I'd stick with it, I wanted a more budget version of my higher end French dutch oven. Looks wise, I love the vintage look of this and the antiqued color. Since dutch ovens get kinda beat up and water stained in the high heat oven, I kinda like the patina look. It's a perfect size for baking dutch oven but could also be used for soups, sauces, whatever. It stands up the heat and baking weekly with no issues. It is heavy as expected with cast iron, so no complaints there. Very easy to clean and no chips or scratches. Love. ... show more

  • Reliable, Versatile, and Durable – A Kitchen Workhorse
Color: Blue
We purchased this Lodge 6 Quart Enameled Cast Iron Dutch Oven back in 2021, and it has become an indispensable part of our kitchen. After years of consistent use, we can confidently say that this Dutch oven is a top-tier product in both performance and durability. We use it for a wide variety of dishes—from slow-cooked collard greens and hearty beef braises to delicate risottos—and it handles each task exceptionally well. The enameled surface heats evenly, retains heat beautifully, and is easy to clean, even after long cooking sessions. Pros: • Exceptional heat retention and distribution – Ideal for both low and high heat cooking. • Versatility – Works great on the stovetop and in the oven for a wide range of recipes. • Durability – After several years, the enamel coating has held up well with no chipping or staining. • Easy to clean – Residue comes off easily with gentle scrubbing; no need for harsh cleaners. Cons: • Weight – As with most cast iron cookware, it’s quite heavy, which may be a consideration for some users. Overall, this Dutch oven offers excellent value and performance. If you’re looking for a reliable, multi-purpose piece of cookware that will last for years, this is an outstanding choice. ... show more

  • Beautiful and functional. But check lid fit
Color: Poppy
I bought this enameled Lodge 6-quart in red via Amazon a month ago and I'm mostly happy with it. It's beautiful, cooks very well and is pretty easy to clean. The pot is heavy, which means you'll have to be careful moving it. But that weight helps it retain heat when you add your food, so it sears beautifully. My only concern is that the **lid doesn't fit perfectly** on the pot. My photos show a gap on one side while the other overlap,.which shows me it's **not** a tight seal. While baking a roast in the oven, I've seen steam coming from the gap under the lid, which means it's not staying in the food. Reviews on Amazon suggest the lid fit is hit or miss. Maybe you'll get a higher quality product buying directly from Lodge? Not sure. Good luck, Lodge's enameled dutch oven is a great kitchen tool that's useful for more recipes than I'd ever expected. ... show more

  • A workhorse that never disappoints.
Color: Island Spice Red
I've owned my Lodge enamel 6-qt dutch oven for almost three years now, and I can't think of a more reliable item I cook with. Like my other Lodge products, it never lets me down. This dutch oven is totally versatile in the oven or on the stove - searing, baking, braising, etc. - it does them all to perfection. It retains heat beautifully. After almost three years of regular use (at least four or five days a week) the enamel has not chipped or degraded in any way. In fact, other than the bottom interior being a slight shade darker than the sides the dutch oven looks practically new. ... show more
