This product is an easy to use, high quality cast iron pan that is a little more forgiving than most. Lodge makes some great pans, and this one is no exception. Truth be told I actually throw one of my odges in the dishwasher from time to time! However this one will not go anywhere near the dishwasher, as it is a one-of-a-kind collector's item with a beautiful relief image of a guitar with butterfly wings on the bottom. The word Dolly is written on the bottom of the guitar in commemoration of singer Dolly Parton. In this way, this item is a beautiful country kitchen decoration, or a solid, sturdy everyday cooking pan. It has the characteristic handle and other features of such a pan. It is a proper weight and definitely true iron. The pan performed well cooking a can of rolls, a roast, scrambled eggs, and also some fried rice. I experimented with this pan to make sure it was up to the normal standards of Lodge pans and it definitely was. You can cook anything in this pan, and it is pre-seasoned unlike many other cast iron pans on the market. This prevents rust and allows you to use the pan immediately upon taking the label off. Overall it is a perfect pan for decorative use or heavy duty cooking everyday. It is perfect in every way and a high quality example of cast iron.

I remember cast iron were the only pans my mom used to have for cooking. Thought I'd order this one for a change from the recently controversial non-stick cookware. And, I wanted something that I was certain could go from stove to oven. This is a large heavy pan and I was able to cook a whole package of bacon all at once. It did a good job cooking evenly and clean up was easier than I thought. Just let the pan soak for a bit before scrubbing. The shape of the handles are good but get really hot so this pan requires hot pads at all times which is a change of process and takes some getting used to. I don't think I'll use this pan everyday for everything, but for bacon, steaks, and burgers, I think this will be my "go to" pan.

How could you not love this dolly parton cast iron pan? It's classic lodge quality -- so just what you would expect there. But with an added fun design representing the one and only. Really fun addition to the kitchen!

Dolly Parton is an american treasure, and this cast iron pan doesn't diminish that legacy. This cast iron skillet has held up quite well to some of the cooking that I have done, and it has done an amazing job cooking some foods. I won't cook acidic food on it, because I know what the deal is with cast iron, but I have made some nice seared chicken with a pan sauce and this thing really does the job. It also has the nice Dolly Parton logo thing on the bottom, so if you're the type that hangs your cast iron up on the wall or something, this will make a really great addition, because it looks great, and performs great!

I admit I ordered this on a whim; I don't actually need another cast iron pan. Or at least I didn't think I did. This is a larger deeper skillet than the standard square Lodge pan I normally use. It's preseasoned, like all Lodge stuff. What makes it special is the design on the back with an image of a guitar and the word "Dolly". It's the perfect pan to hang on a wall when not in use. Or you could even just use it as a decorative item. If you just need a cast iron pan, there are plenty of options out there. This is for Dolly fans or people looking for that little bit of flair from their pan.
