This 10.25 inch cast iron skillet is the perfect size for a family of four! Lodge is a favorite trusted band, and this skillet has a gorgeous etching celebrating America's 250th year. As with many Lodge products, this one came pre-seasoned, but I washed carefully with soap to remove any machine oil and then carefully rubbed bacon fat all over the pan and set in a 350 degree oven. I then considered the seasoning to be finished, and tried out a pan of biscuits this morning. They came out perfectly! and did not absorb any strange tastes. This pan is perfect for biscuits, cornbread, frying chicken or searing steaks. I especially love that Lodge products treated well will never rust. This is a great price for this offering, and makes a perfect shower gift for new couples ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I decided to give this a try primarily as a switch-up from my typical cooking option. I’m very happy with the product overall. I love that It comes out of the box already seasoned. I only had to just do a quick wash of the pan before using it, and my first cook turned out fantastic. I seared a piece of steak and cooked some eggs as well, and everything cooked evenly with that classic taste that only can come from cast iron. Another huge plus was the creative design that they put on the bottom of the pan to celebrate our country turning 250 years old. The stamp on the iron was a really nice touch. I think this is also a good gift idea for the person you know that has everything. Overall, I would pick this up right away if you’re looking for a pan that you can use on a daily basis with a cool design that you can enjoy for years to come to commemorate our great country! ... show more
