The material is very thin. In picture description folded up it looks more thicker. However the material seems to be sturdy . It fit our pool perfectly. We laid on turf so the thinness didn’t cause any issue.

Just so you know, this pad will not extend more than an inch or two beyond the edge of the pool. Mine was cut to the exact size stated in the item details, which may or may not be what you were hoping for. Many users' photos show material beyond the pools edge, possibly they had purchased a larger size. ... show more
