I love this thing. My first induction cooktop experience. The cook surface is cool to the touch even when water is boiling in the kettle. There were no wiring instructions included. So, be comfortable wiring things. The wiring is for European 220v (yellow/green ground, brown is hot, and blue is neutral). I am not an electrician, but I have done enough wiring to risk finding out if things worked, and share with all of you. I did do extensive googling before aimlessly connecting two hots to a hot and neutral, though. I wired this to a 30Amp, 240v North American outlet (red and black hot, bare ground) and it worked. I can’t recall the exact plug, but it was a locking 4-prong plug and outlet (the induction cooktop doesn’t require 4 wires - only two hots and a ground, but I wanted to be able to use the outlet for future 30Amp appliances that do) The only issue is this is likely not drawing 5000w of power, or it’s not at 93% efficiency. I need to test the power draw to get a tighter range, but it’s pulling somewhere in this range: * 3800w at 93% efficiency * 5000w at 71% efficiency Since induction requires pretty specific cookware, that is likely a contributing factor. To test, I boiled 7 gallons of water from 60°F (15.5°C) to 212°F (100°C), taking almost 45 minutes. If it were pulling 5000w, it would have been closer to 35 minutes. I didn’t record things very accurately, since I only needed rough estimates, but be aware you may not get 5000w of power/93% efficiency. ... show more
