  • Seems to work as expected, easy to clean.
Size: 8 Quarts
Purchased this to replace my 8 quart Emeril Lagasse that quit heating up after about 3 years. I used it probably 3 times a week or more. Love electric pressure cookers! So quick and easy to prepare a meal. I am hoping this will last a good long time. I don't use the air fryer on it very often, but wanted to have that option. ... show more

  • Multifunction kitchen device that works? This must be 2020...
Size: 8 Quarts
Grabbed this on black friday promo as it saved on counter space combining instant pot and airfrier. Haven’t trued the dehydrator, but both of its primary functions work well. Makes better rice than American rice cookers, but so so compared to a Zojirushi. Thanksgiving was easier with this as it saved over space and made air fried potato skins the MVP casserole topping and brussel sprouts crisp. Cleaning the air fry lid might be difficult one day, but didn’t seem to need much the first few weeks of repeated use. Also has slow cooker capability. Importantly, the bucket is stainless steel, so no teflon flakes to give you cancer when it inevitably starts flaking off. The air fry basket may have a teflon coating though, so be careful with washing it and poking contents during mid cycle turns. The interface is clunky, but better than having bluetooth and an app that stops working after the latest ios release and makes the thing stop working altogether after an unwanted or failed firmware update pushed out to better steal your personal info and sell it to advertisers. PSA: “smart” speakers or fridges or tvs are not smart to buy, particularly if they have no “dumb” or disconnected capabilities. If you do buy a smart device and keep it airgapped (offline) don’t let it ever connect as devices denied updates for a time may brick themselves when first connected years later because they attempt to jump through too many updates simultaneously. This killed a grandparent’s walmart tv in good working order after being plugged into ethernet for the first time post relocation move as the manufacturer had never considered a user going from firmware v 1.1 to 4.1 in one jump rather than 1 to 2 to 3 to 4. (Steps off soapbox). Yeah, this thing is worth it despite breaking some of Alton Brown’s kitchen device rules. Replaced my crock pot, rice cooker, lack of dehydrator, and lack of airfrier. Don’t make popcorn in it unless testing your smoke alarm or trying to get guests out of your house. Shouldn’t have to say this, but don’t dishwasher the electric parts like the frier lid. ... show more

  • Time saver, all-in-one cooking appliance
Size: 8 Quarts
Love my insta pot. I have narcolepsy and thus typically have very little energy to complete basic daily tasks. This has been a time saver and makes it easy for me to cook a week’s worth of meals with very little effort and few dirty dishes. This cooker can be used for anything from soups to roast, and can be used to make one serving or many. I only with the aluminum exterior was more durable as it dents very easily, and the dents are hard to remove completely. Wish I bought this ages ago! ... show more

  • Pretty decent, but not excellent
Size: 8 Quarts
So... the story of this purchase is that I needed to replace my air fryer (for some reason, my air fryers don't last longer than 2 years until something in that plastic housing cracks), and I was tempted by the advertised versatility and the obviously sturdy construction of this one. I have a small kitchen, and the idea of an "all-in-one" machine was tempting. The thing I certainly regret: not waiting until it got on sale (both for Amazon Prime Day and for Black Friday) I've had the Instant Pot Duo Crisp for over a month now, and in this month I have tried a lot of its functionality. It is certainly a good pressure cooker. It is excellent for making stews, beans, stocks. I am not a huge fan of pressure cookers, but I am still trying to learn how to use it. I like the larger size, as I cook for larger crowds on a regular basis, and I do like the "set it and forget it" nature of the instant pot if I am preparing larger meals. The air fryer option was the reason I decided to go for it. Now, there is a problem - the separate air fryer lid needs to be kept somewhere, and that, in my kitchen, is a problem. As an air fryer, it is not bad, but it is a smaller one and size is a huge thing for air fryers, so that the air can circulate correctly. It does fit under the cabinets with the lid on, but it gets to be a pain if you need to open it to turn the food. Plus, no option to just shake it as I used to do with the dedicated air fryer. All-in-all, it works, but not in love with it. The sous vide option was part of the reason I bought it. I have a Sansaire and Anova immersion sticks, but the fact that you have the lid on is a huge plus for longer cooking. The downside though, temperature control leaves a lot to be desired - it can easily be a couple of degrees off when checked with a thermometer, and sous vide is all about precise temperature. Also, the pot is again on the smaller side for sous vide, but it would have been just great for say a couple of steaks. That being said, it was pretty convenient for veggies, where I am way less sensitive on having a precise temperature. I used the sous vide setting to make yogurt - that came out really nicely, and you can line the air fryer contraption with cheesecloth to strain the yogurt afterward, which was pretty convenient. The slow cooker option is not bad, but the pot is on the smaller side for that too. An oval slow cooker is way more convenient. The saute function works as expected. And I still have to play with more functions. What I was disappointed with was the manual, which does not cover all the functions; and I would have appreciated a recipe book that would offer a few examples for each of the functions available. Yes, it is possible to find plenty of recipes on the web, but it would have been useful to me to have maybe just one example recipe that demonstrated how to use steam, or what the difference between "roast" and ''bake" is. All in all, I am probably happy I bought it, even though I am not in love with it. It is pretty decent for a lot of things that I want, but it doesn't seem to excel in any of them. However, I would still consider myself to be on the learning curve for it :) ... show more

  • AKA the soup machine (grandson named it)
Size: 8 Quarts
It does everything I need, from soups and stews to slow cooker stuff and air fry. I use it to make an amazing broth for collards before I add the greens. It make bone broth out of ham hocks in record time. I make great chicken soup, veg soup, curry goat, beef stew, and more. There was only one weird thing, my dog was terrified of it so I had to put it outside to cook. IDK know if she heard something but it scared her into a panic. No problem, I cooked outside no mess at all. If the pressure is on for over 35-40 minutes and I do not open it, it can sit overnight IF and only IF I don't open it. It kills all germs and even spores. Very nice appliance! I had a cheaper brand with a couple of problems so I switched to this. ... show more
