Description

The Wahl Lister Star Horse Clipper - in Colors is small enough to clip faces and strong enough for bodies. It features a powerful, 45-watt magnetic motor that runs quietly and offers consistent speed and power. Ergonomically designed with a narrower, triangular body, even small hands can use this clipper comfortably. And, the fun colors – purple and turquoise – will appeal to the younger set, as well. The Lister Star also features an easy-to-clean air filter and patented, ventilated head technology to keep the blade cool. Clipper speed is 2800 strokes per minute, and an overload switch protects the motor. A handsome canvas carry bag is included, plus an A2 fine blade, blade oil, gear grease, screwdriver, cleaning brush and a 16-foot cord. The clipper weighs 1 3/4 lbs. and is just under 10" long. Grip diameter is 2 1/4".Made in England.

I should have brought these years ago. I had been using a set of Oster clippers for the past 12ish years. They were fine but to do anything took forever with them. Now that I have several horses of my own plus one or two at a time in care or training I decided to get some "grown up person clippers". These are amazing. One hour to trace clip on a 16.2 , 1200 lb OTTB with sensitive skin. I could even do his face. He only twitched his skin around the back of his gut area. The rest of the time he stood there like nothing was happening. Yes, these clippers do vibrate more than an entry level Oster or Whal pair. Yes, you do have to stop every 10 min or so and spray cooling oil on them. Yes, you should bathe your horse before you use them to body clip. Yes, you do have to make sure the tension on the blade is correct and readjust it after every break. For the power and ease of use in actually clipping the hair it's totally worth it. Things that would take me an hour to do with my Osters literally took me 10 minutes with these. Now I want to clip every horse in the barn, mine or otherwise! ... show more

Worked good on the sheep for slick shear, but the lister legend has a bit more power. I have an oster shearmaster, but I will be using this for all my shearing now. The blades do get warm, but much less chance of nicking the animals with this set.

We are using the clippers on our miniature horses. They work great on open areas. Either the blades are a bit wide for lower leg areas or we need more practice.

    • Keep them oiled
Great heavy duty very good for clipping horses and dogs. I have clipped about forty And three dogs with these pair in two years. I can do two-four horses per blade if they are really clean. They are much lighter than my old body clippers and quieter

We shear our lambs about three times a year and these clippers do such a good job! They clip the wool super well and never give any burns. I highly recommend these!

This is the second one of these I've boughten, and I just love them. Light enough to use with one hand for hours without getting sore or tired wrists (I clip goats for show). My first pair has lasted years and years with minimal maintenance. Keep it cooled and oiled and it just keeps going, nice and smooth and quiet! ... show more

These clippers work the best out of any at the barn. A bit loud but i expect that with larger clippers. Made my clipping jobs easy :)
