  • So happy with these
Size: Clipper
Feel heavier than I am used to but they work and that's the important part. Have bought many clippers to trim dogs and these by far are the best performance. Very quiet, the blade is easy to change out. Having my dogs groomed professionally was costing too much plus the stress on them. This way, it's easier on everyone involved. ... show more

  • Recommend it 5 stars so far!
Size: Clipper
Huge difference compared to the cheap brand that I was using before! No pinching, no cutting, no stress! Only suggestion is to buy a cooling spray to keep the blade cool. It doesn’t get burning hot like others but it gets warm! My shi tzu was able to tolerate the warmth but is just a suggestion!

  • The perfect dog trimmer
Size: Clipper
I've used a portable trimmer on my dogs but over time it just would not get through their coat. The Andis trimmer is the best trimmer I've ever used. I am not a professional but this made my life easier. When you use it go slow and steady. Be careful as it has some serious power, if you don't pay attention and control the blade it could trim off more hair than intended. It plugs into the wall so have an long extension cord handy. Two speeds let you cut through the most stubborn matting, remember steady and slow. It doesn't include trim guard so be sure to use a pinky finger under the blade to control depth. If you have a dog - get one. ... show more

  • Good Clipper, Bad Directions for Blade Change
Size: Clipper
I just took this clipper out yesterday to use it for the first time. Since I have a size 7 blade I wanted to put on, and since I am merely an amateur dog groomer of only my own dogs, I read the directions about how to remove the size 10 that came attached to it. Well, it turns out that THE INSTRUCTIONS WERE INACCURATE AND I CUT MYSELF ON THE BLADE pretty badly. (Hence, four stars.) I was worried I might need stitches, but so far the super glue I used on it is holding the skin together. This was completely avoidable since I discovered on accident how to actually easily remove the blade at the same time I sliced myself. (I am pretty sure the cut made it through all the layers of my skin on my pointer finger and I have a minor slice on the palm of my hand. The glue came off in the pic of my finger. You can sort of see the cut on the palm of my hand through the glue. I just took these pics now, not right after it happened. Will be re-gluing shortly.) The instructions say, "While holding down the blade release mechanism, push down on blade, then gently pull the blade forward." I am here to tell you not to push the blade down at all. You press the release button and then pull up on the blade and it easily comes right off. Both my husband and I tried to get it off using said directions without success, and I even used a rubber shelf liner to protect my hand while I did it. I don't even know how the slicing of my hand ended up happening. The blade was so sharp I didn't even feel it at first. So please be careful. I don't want anyond else to suffer like me. As for the clipper, it worked well on my Mini Schnauzer overall. I didn't even bother using the low setting much as the high setting was really smooth. My old Andis blade combs fit nicely on it. The cord is pretty long, but I still used an extension cord for it. The blade got hot eventually, just like any other blade, so I unplugged and let it cool off a few times. If you are a groomer, you likely have multiple blades, so that will probably only matter for us amateurs. The unit itself wasn't louder than usual. This doesn't come with a case, which I don't like, but it does have a little metal hanger on it. So enjoy the clipper, but be careful! ... show more

  • Worth every penny vs the cheap cordless on amazon
Size: Clipper
Game changer vs the $30-$40 ones on Amazon. I wish I went with this sooner. I was washing my dogs the day before and letting them dry, my cheap clippers wouldn't easily cut. So I got a blow dryer which made barely an improvement. Then I got a real set of clippers and I mowed through my doodle shaggy winter coat easy as can be. The clippers make the difference and is what you are needing if you are trying to decide. ... show more

  • Don’t waste your money if you have a standard poodle
Size: Clipper
Why did you pick this product vs others?: This corded Andis 2 speed clipper sucks. I bought it in Nov 2024 to replace my Andis Pro 3 Speed (it had a cord too) which finally died (RIP quality clippers) after almost 5 years of use on a huge standard poodle. My old 3 speed Andis clippers would start to get hot to the touch after 3 hours of hardcore work. This is a reasonable workload, based on professional groomers’ feedback. The clipper’s heat would transfer from the motor to the actual blades (I swap blades every 5 minutes or so), so I knew it was time for a break. I’ve used this new 2 speed Andis clippers set (10 grooming sessions in 8 months for 1 large standard poodle). These 2 speed clippers CANNOT handle a reasonable workload. This clipper gets overheated after 20 minutes of work. That includes me swapping blades every 4-5 minutes, so that I can work on my poodle’s coat for the full 20 minute segment. It is NOT reasonable for clippers to overheat so fast for a clean, dry, & prepped poodle coat. Overheating - it’s like being touched by a hot curling iron. Humans don’t like it, and my dog certainly doesn’t either The noise is comparable to my prior 3 speed clippers, and I had initially thought that these clippers were a decent purchase value. That is absolutely NOT the case. The purchase price difference for a corded Andis Pro 3 Speed in late 2019 vs Andis 2 Speed in late 2024 was significant. But so is the quality of the 2 different products that I bought. If I didn’t have all the blades, attachments, and related gear for my 1st Andis clippers … I would switch to Wahl or Oster cordless clippers in a heartbeat. This drop in Andis’ product usability affects my workflow & efficiency. Now it takes me more than 8 hours to fully groom my ONE large standard poodle. Ugh. I even used brand new blades yesterday/today (July 2025), to make sure whether it’s the clippers or the blades causing the overheating problem. I am not a professional groomer, but I’ve taken lessons. I groom my huge standard poodle at home for a few reasons: 1. Save money 2. Eliminate injuries 3. Enhance our bond (medical service dog). The attached photos are a comparison: floofy “poodle” style with Andis Pro 3 speed took 3 hours (in general, before hand scissoring). Very short “summer” nearly Lab haircut took almost 8 hours last time (late May 2025). I’ve already spent 8 hours these past 2 days, and I’m not finished with his current cut (mid July 2025). • Good first impression
Size: Clipper
The blade arrived in perfect condition and was easy to install. I’ve only used it for a short time, but everything has been working normally so far. It seems well made.

  • Get hot pretty quick
Size: Clipper
I really wanted to like these clippers because they feel solid and they do a good job cutting through my dog’s coat. They also run fairly quietly, which helps if you have a pet that’s nervous during grooming. My biggest issue is that they get hot pretty quickly. After using them for a while, I had to stop and let them cool down before continuing because I didn’t want them to get too warm against my dog’s skin. Other than that, they work well, but the heat is something I wish was improved. ... show more
