I was very leery to buy these, as the reviews were not the greatest and it was the same complaint over and over. A professional groomer recommended these as they donated a pair to the local shelter. Even with that I was on the fence because of the number of negative reviews, and without warning my husband pushed buy now, and just like that they were on their way. I needed a strong, well made set of clippers for my Pyrenes/poodle mix. They arrived on time, and I put them on the charger and waited for them to be fully charged. The same night I was able to try them out. All I can say is WOW! I had no idea just how much fur he had, there were times I felt like I was shearing a sheep, mind you I have never done that. They glided through his fur like butter, blades were very sharp, so easy to use and yes the battery makes it little bottom heavy, but not to the point that I wouldn't recommend. Honestly if I hadn't read that on a review I don't think I would have even noticed. It had been several months since he was last groomed and after I finished for the night the clippers were still over 90% charged. When you first turn them on there is a slight delay before they actually turn on, but they are quiet. They never heated up or over heated and yes these are expensive, but for my needs they are a great value for the money. If I can save over $100 every couple of months by skipping his grooming trips and these continue to work as they did the first time I will have saved money within the first year. ... show more

Works well. Pricey but it’s an investment piece. We groom our 3 poodles at home every 6 weeks. Easy to use. Noise level isn’t bothersome. Battery works well, but we bought a spare battery to make sure we never run out of battery life while mid project. Definitely recommend buying Andis blades — we find that the off brand blades make for more noise. They do get hot after using for a while so make sure keep extra blades and cooling spray on hand. ... show more

The fist time I used them, they were great. I got them out to use again, and they won't run. They charge, then die, and won't start. I used them once. When I went to the order, it said the windows for repairs, etc, has closed. Last Andes I'll ever buy.

This is the best clipper I have ever used it is very strong. it is fairly quite a really nice sound level. it is a bit heavier then other andis clippers but not by much. it does heat up a little fast but not the fastest I have seen. the battery life is good But got it for personal use so I don't know how well it would hold up for use in a grooming salon but it feels like it would be good. And my whal attachment comes works really well on it and for blades I only have andis blades so idk if it would work with other brands but I assume so ... show more

I really like this product. It works well and holds a charge for a long time. The only downside is that it’s a little less comfortable to use on very small dogs. If you groom large dogs all day, I would recommend having a second battery, as one battery may not last through a full day of heavy use. I have the original ZR and it was fabulous for 8 years - finally died so got this upgraded version and its almost identical but cuter due to the special design on the shaver and I am confident it will last many years as well
