First time grooming my Mini Schnauzer on my own. Hes been going to a professional for 2 years but sadly she moved away 2 months ago. Before her I struggled finding someone for about a year who can groom my dog the way I wanted. I went to several and something was always cut incorrectly which was very disappointing. That is why I decided to do lots of research on how to groom my schnauzer and which clippers would best work for us so I decided to go with this Wahl. It was so simple to use and I would really recommend it to someone who's using clippers for the first time. So happy with how he turned out, he was really due for a hair cut. I shared 1 before and 2 pictures after using the Wahl, all was done with only the clippers. It's also great to use both corded and cordless. Low sound and lightweight. Update: It's been 2 years now & these clippers are still going strong. I have also been using it on our second new family member with still no disappointment. (New additional pictures add) Just make sure to follow instructions on care so it lasts, recently 1 month before having 2 years with the clippers, I honestly was to tired to clean the clippers correctly after grooming both late at night that I tried to cut corners by just removing the blade, rinsing and just left it. I didnt even dry it correctly either or lubricate it, I just laid it on a paper towel thinking I will be fine. I didn't even bother to check up on it until 2 days later and the blade got rusted. So ofcourse time to buy a new blade overall machine still works great! I know there are those who mention that these didn't work out for their poodle or any dogs who have long curly hair, please do your research on what clippers or blades work best for your dogs breed through multiple places either through the web or YouTube. Do not just relie on what the information on the site that it is selling it says. The blades really play a part on how it will handle the dogs coat. These will work on long haired dogs depending on where you use it such as the face, paws or sanitary parts but may not be 100% reliable for the rest of the body for all. ... show more

Lightweight, quiet, easy to use, and works well, we were able to groom our 14 lb dog on 1 charge. The blade got a little warm, but not hot to the touch. The plastic comb attachments are ok and they stayed attached for the duration. Overtime though, the warm clipper blades will warp the plastic, so the comb attachments should be stainless steel. ... show more

Love this thing, tho if you’re also looking for a training plan for how to get your dog used to at home grooming, read on. Purchased for my Australian shepherded after reading great things about this specific clipper. I’m training my pup to be comfortable with being groomed, so I leave this out in the living room, or wherever I am spending most of my time, and began by turning it on occasionally. I’d do this while she eats her dinner or kong treats, Icecream treats, playing tug of war with my husband - whenever she’s in a great mood basically, just to get her used to the noise, which is mostly the same level as an electric tooth brush. My plan was to gradually desensitize her to the sound, then proximity (bringing it closer to her), pretending to cut her hair while it’s off, and just simply being gradual and consistent with small steps. It was taking a while, but she wasn’t in dire need of a hair cut, so I just stayed consistent. My husband though was of the mind to just hog tie her and sheer her like a sheep. A trauma I adamantly wanted to avoid. When she was letting me take her paws and pretend to trim her toes, with only a little bit of nervousness, I decided it was time. I pulled out the secret weapon, yogurt slathered to a suction cup thing mounted to the sliding glass door, and while she was busy with that, she let me just trim all of her, toes and tummy included. She let me take so much fur I could stuff a small pillow. Wouldn’t have been able to do this so easily if it were tied down with a cord. I love the digital battery display, which stayed over half full the entire time on the first charge. The guards slide on and off with ease, and the lever to change blade’s closeness is an added extra control that I appreciate. Awesome buy at about 40% off for the pinky purple color. I first was looking at the cheaper stuff, 40-60$ range, but this is really an investment item which I intend to save hundreds throughout the life of my pup by avoiding dog-salons. I have no doubts this thing will last a while, seems better made than my husbands hair trimmers.... Just takes some patience with training - that may also apply to an impatient husband who isn’t seeing the progress fast enough. Persist. :) ... show more
