After reading some bad reviews, I was anxious about assembling this bar stool. I decided to use a bit of common sense! I put the seat upside down on my workbench and placed wood glue on all mating joints. Working quickly, I put the pieces together loosely using the included screws and a good Allen wrench (not the included one). At that point, I switched to my power drill with an Allen driver. I worked carefully, putting all the screws in place but NOT over tightening them. Just go a bit slow to snug up all the screws. Once they were all snug, I went back over them to fully but carefully tighten them more. I wiped off any glue that was forced out of the joints and left the stool on the bench over night. The next day, I installed the wood plugs in the holes. I put wood glue around each plug, pushed it into place firmly, and secured it with a bit of painters tape. After a few hours I removed the tape. The stool is extremely sturdy! There is obviously a built-in safety factor in the 225 pound weight limit! I weigh 227, and the stool easily supports my weight. I’m looking forward to using it for music gigs at senior citizen housing facilities. Common sense isn’t as common as it once was😱. ... show more

Whoever thought you only needed the allen wrench provided to put this stool together had a cruel sense of humor. I got this stool after some thought just to see if it was as hard to put together as some of the reviews... well if you don't have some tools and are not familiar with woodworking yeah... Impossible. I have some skill but am not an expert. 1) The holes for the screws are not deep enough by about an 1/8 of an inch or so. Impossible to screw this large screw in without measuring the length of the screw with a drill bit an using tape to measure the amount of depth to drill the hole. 2) Yes, the wooden plugs to cover the screw holes are not the right size, but it was size of the holes not the plugs in my case. Also, if you did not make the holes deep enough for the screws you probably did not get the screw driven all the way in and it is protruding a little and not letting you put in the plug all the way in so it would appear not to fit. It took me 15 or 20 minutes to assemble the stool after I deepened the screw holes. It seems to be sturdy. It is a shop stool, not for your home as some of the plugs may go in too far and are not very attractive. 3) What do you need for tools: an electric drill and a set of bits. I doubt there is any quality control so you decide the size of the bit and how deep to make the hole. You need a good allen wrench. Preferably with a handle, even with the holes the right depth the encluded allen wrench would not work very well. You need a wooden mallet to get the plugs into place, some will look great, some may be too deep an not look very good. Don't expect the little pads on the bottom of legs to last long, but if the stool is in your garage or shop then that's not an issue. So overall it is probably worth the price if you have the done the noted work. Given the poor quality control your stool could have problems that mine didn't and you'd have to figure it out. The individual parts (except the plugs/plug holes) are engineered well enough to put it together without an issue in my case. Bottom line I would not buy this unless you have a little skill and a drill, drill bits, and a good allen wrench. A wooden mallet was helpful. Don't expect this to be attractive, it is a functional stool. ... show more

Delivers in skinny box. I first thought I have to put it together and it will end up being wobbly. I was wrong. This thing takes about 15-20 minutes to put together. The wood is heavy oak hardwood. It has caps to cover the screw heads. When I was done I was so surprised how sturdy it was. I highly recommend this stool. It is just the right height. I use mine in our bathroom to sit on while I trim my beard. It’s nice to sit after a shower and take care of things in the mirror. ... show more

Holes are not drilled long enough to use Allen wrench to get them tight. Fortunatly I had a small power drill with Allen heads that fit and VERY carefully was able to make screws go in. Mnfr needs to correct this. Single old women like me need mnfg people to do their job so we do not have to do it for them!!!!! P.S. Robots are not infallible either. Otherwise, serves the purpose for which I purchased this for. ... show more

I ordered this stool for my kitchen, it is the perfect height for my kitchen table and counter bar, I did order a cushion to go with it.. looks great, easy to assemble. It styrofoam leg foot covers, suggest order floor ones the styrofoam won’t stay on, though seems sticky attached.

My wife has a not so good hip. Makes it hard to stand for a while. She uses this stool when washing a few dishes or preparing our meals. This stool was very easy to assemble with detailed instructions, all the needed parts and assembly tool. It's extremely solid and sturdy. The cushions on the bottom of the legs are an added bonus. Keeps it from sliding and protects the floor. Very pleased with the purchase. Definitely 5 stars! ... show more
