I spent a couple of months looking and trying out bat stools of all types and ended up with this one because I had constraints. My friends come over and if Im cooking, there is no comfortable place for them to sit and in the early AM, having a quick place to sit, drink my coffee and watch the kitchen TV...a stool makes perfect sense. Now since my diningroom is next to the kitchen, the stool needs to blend with the diningroom decor because its not to be a focal point. So I ended up with this stool because it blends, doesnt take up a lot if space outside the kitchen sidebar and it gives my friends a place to feel comfortable. The stool itself iz 30", but when the cushion is added its 32". My counter is 43". It probably would have been better if the stool and cushion totaled 30". The quality is very nice for the price point. For anyone who says the stool is wabbly, they should have looked at the instructions. In addition to the 8 screws that assemble the seat to the legs, there are 8 more long narrow screws. Those screws go into the bottom of the bottom rungs to reinforce the legs. I like the studded finish around the cushion. I thought they were silver, but they are more copper/brass and compliment well. I like the way the stool looks and its perfect for a small space. Its super simple to put together, and I highly recommend you keep the "L" wrench provided incase you need to tighten the screws. It took a long time to find a dark wood/cream or beige combo. These stools are a great buy especially for the cheap price! I was nervous about these because they are alot cheaper then most other bar stools but they look great and are very sturdy! I bought these "30 inch" stools to place under my 35" bar counter. (35" from the floor to the bottom edge of my counter) When I set them underneath there was only 2 1/2" clearance. I measured the stools and the wooden part is 30". With the built in cushion they are 32 1/2". I'm keeping them because they are beautiful, well priced, easy to put together and sturdy. I'm hoping that the cushions will break in a little bit and I'll have a little more leg room under my counter. If not. I'll have to cut a couple of inches off the legs. ... show more

These look so perfect! A breeze to put together. Probably the easier thing I’ve ever had to assemble. Sturdy and functional UPDATE * after a few months of use these stools are not sturdy and always have to tighten the bolts ever 6 weeks or so.

I purchased a new to me bar height table from Facebook, but it did not have the stools. So straight to Amazon I go! These are perfect height and the cushion is comfy! Colors are a bit off but that was my bad! They are gorgeous! Great deal for the money and sturdy! Easy to assemble, but might need a drill to get screws in the legs, or I'm just weak! ... show more

I purchased this stool so I can sit at my counter and it is the perfect height and sturdy. It was okay the way it was for my table but, it just so happens I had recovered my dining room chairs and had some material left so I recovered the seat with matching material so it went from great to wonderful! Seat screwed off and I stapled the material on and screwed it back together again. So, if you like the stool but the material is a little off, it is easily changeable. ... show more
