  • The Freshest Tasting Water
Size: 10-Cup Color: Seafoam
The water from this is phenomenal. It honestly feels like even the texture of the water is somehow softer and better. I love that it directly states it can be stored countertop, as many filters specifically say fridge only. It DOES take a long time to fill. Don't let the videos showing a steady stream fool you, they either tampered with their filter or it is faulty. Even after two weeks of filling the pitcher 2-3 times daily, I don't get anywhere near that speed. I do, however, get about the speed LifeStraw claims. LifeStraw very specifically says it takes about 7-10 minutes for water to drip through the cone and 25-30 minutes total to fill the entire pitcher. The water quality is just insane though, and the fact that it filters out bacteria, parasites, chlorin, and microplastics make it totally worth a small amount of patience and preparation. I just have a large metal pitcher that I fill with the purified water, so I always have some on hand, and whenever I pass through the kitchen I pour water into the pitcher as needed. ... show more

  • Not what I expected from LifeStraw
Size: 7-Cup Color: Pebble
The bottom keeps cracking. This is my 3rd one because of leaking at the bottom. The first one we threw out because I didn’t buy the protection plan. The second one we had replaced and now we are on our 3rd and I noticed little cracks at the bottom and it’s starting to leak like the first 2 did. I don’t know if I will continue to replace these pitchers. They need to improve their manufacturing process. ... show more

  • Impossible to set up, let alone get water out of. Also it’s plastic.
Size: 10-Cup Color: White
First of all, make sure you select the correct item. I incorrectly assumed that all of the LifeStraw pitchers were glass but they’re not and I wanted a glass one. I decided to keep the plastic one rather than send it back for the planet’s sake (initially). Now for set up, you’d assume it would be easy because it is a water pitcher, but everything is so tightly screwed together it’s completely annoying and nearly impossible to deal with. I spent over 15 min trying to get the bottom lid off to no avail. I returned to it after cleaning the rest of the pitcher, still no luck. I then spent 10 more minutes trying to open it and watched a useless YouTube tutorial. I am not a weak person but I couldn’t get the filter cap off. This stupid pitcher is going directly to my Buy Nothing group with a warning for the poor soul who requests it. ... show more

  • Throw away your Brita
Size: 10-Cup Color: Pebble
So much better than Brita and other water filter pitchers. This filters so much more than other brands. It removes so many impurities and makes city water feel safe to drink! It also gets rid of the bad taste in city water. It does take longer to filter water than a Brita. You will need to refill the inner canister several times in order to refill the pitcher. But that’s part of the reason it filters so much more out of the water. The filter needs more time to remove all the impurities. Side note- this brand has a great mission statement and gives back to those in need and I think that’s the cherry on top! ... show more

  • Great alternative for former Berkey user
Size: 7-Cup Color: Seafoam
I purchased a plastic one and a glass one. I prefer my family use glass when possible, but with 2 kids aged 10 and 12, I figured plastic would be best for them to use for now... Our family goes through about 2 gallons of water a day. I purchased 2 of these instead of the large capacity one, due to all the terrible reviews about leaky spouts on the large capacity one. Plus these are far more attractive in the kitchen than that one. I bought the plastic pitcher on Amazon, the glass one at a competitor. The one I received from Amazon had been opened and handled previously. I can tell, b/c the one I received from the competitor still had protective sticky plastic on the top, and items within the box were put together correctly. Unfortunately I received the competitor's pitcher after I had already started using the Amazon one. I'm glad I used soap to wash the outside of the filter container as opposed to just rinsing with water, as directed! (i did not use soap on the inner part of the filter housing) Going through 2 gallons a day (school bottles, coffee, baseball, both adults working from home...) means, at minimum, I am refilling each pitcher about 7 times a day. (the inner compartment, not the actual pitcher). Yes, it's time consuming, but worth it, in my opinion. I work from home and have the time to refill often. But, I guess if I weren't at home, we wouldn't be going through as much water at home, so it would be fine either way... You're supposed to replace the carbon filter every 40 gallons. Using 2 pitchers, consuming 2 gallons a day, ours is every 40 days (every 20 days if we were only using 1 pitcher). I imagine the 2 month estimate is based on a single person's use. Yes, the filtering process takes time. But, as a former 12-year Berkey user, we're used to that. And especially with 2 pitchers, it isn't an issue for us. We can use one while the other is filling up. I can't tell the difference in taste between this and the Berkey water we used to drink. But my son did and said it "tastes delicious." The wisteria and seafoam colors are lovely, and I really enjoy the change from the big stainless berkey we had The silicone gaskets are different between the plastic and glass pitchers I got. Not sure if that's b/c one is an older model (I would assume the Amazon one that had been opened and returned) or if it's just different between the glass and plastic models. Doesn't affect performance, just an observation. Took off a star based on Amazon sending me an opened and handled product (kind of an ick factor when dealing with a water filter situation). ... show more
