We had an electric fireplace that we had been using in our basement for years. We got it as a gift and it was great. Lately, it started having issues and it seems it was time to replace it. I started looking for a new one, put a few in my wishlist and ending up buying one that was highly recommended.....only to have it not work right out of the box. I returned it and went back to my wishlist. This was the next one I chose. This LifeSmart LifePro Electric Infrared Fireplace Heater looks almost identical to the one we were replacing and I honestly should have ordered it in the first place. Such a breeze it was! All I had to do was open the box, plug it in and viola! It works great! Our basement has 3 rooms with an open space and is about 900 square feet total. We do keep the door closed to one of the rooms but this heats the entire basement in under 20 minutes. It has 3 heat settings: 1000 watt, 1500 watt and eco. It also has an overheat and tip over switch. You can adjust the brightness for the flames and it has a digital thermostat with a 12 hour timer. It does come with a remote but so far, we haven't used it. It's also very elegant and easy to clean. We haven't had any issues with it feeling hot on the top so we are able to set a few small items on the mantle. I was a bit leery about getting the stone one but it's so beautiful that I'm glad I did. It's not real tall, sitting at a little over 2 feet, but that's perfect for the room we have it in. Anything much bigger would have been obnoxious. I'm so happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend.

Love it! Love it! Love it! We were looking for an electric fireplace that also functioned as a heater. We love that it has a thermostat for the heater, has an “eco” function for energy efficiency, and 3 settings for the “flame” on the fireplace. The flame is realistic and the heat output is good. We can use the heater without the fireplace or the fireplace without the heater or both at the same time. This fireplace is very attractive with the “stone” on it. The unit surpassed my expectations!

This is so cute. I bought it because of the size and look. The flames are beautiful. I don’t use it for the heat just the ambiance it creates. It is not big so I suggest you pay attention to the measurements to make sure it’s right for you.

Although it's a bit smaller than I pictured, (my fault). The looks are great, has a lovely open fire appeal. Now, the heater unit. I understand this is basically a small space heater. I was absolutely amazed that this little heater provides enough air to keep our 450sqft living warm and comfortable. Even when the temps outside got down in the low 20s. Also note that this was the only heat being used at the time, we have not fired our big wood furnace up yet.

Worked well for like 3 months... then it got an E1 error where it was shutting off. Found out it was either not getting airflow, overheating, or the fan inside was broken. I emailed their customer service about it and they told me how to put in a warranty claim and I followed their requirements to the letter. Well they didnt acknowledge me at all after I gave them all of the warranty things they asked for. Quick communication up until that point. It has been crickets ever since. I emailed them a few days after being i did not get a response and i still have yet to hear from them. So here i am with a broken fireplace and the company will not answer me back about fixing. Don't buy it... stuff shouldn't be breaking 3 months in.

the thermostat sensor is not properly place in the unit. thru trial and error, i figured this out. our room temp was 72deg. i set thermo to 74 and unit did not start to heat. i had to turn up to 76 before it would come on. what i noticed was even with out the heat on, the unit itself was warm (the front glass was warm and top of unit felt a little warm ) so i thought maybe it had to be the lights making the unit warm. so i turned off the flame so it would cool. i let it sit for one day without the flame on. then on the next day (room temp was still 72 deg.) i turned unit on and set thermo to 74. after a min or so the unit came on and started to heat like its supposed to. so thats what this review is about. the thermo sensor is registering the built up heat of the lights from the fake flame and causing the thermostat to not operate the way its supposed. unless there is a way to move the sensor from "feeling" the warmth of the lights, the thermostat is not going to work the way it should. no more than 3 star because of this.
