This ink is precisely what you need for certain HP printers. Make sure you look at the current cartridge in there so you've got the right number. These 'high yield' ink cartridges do indeed last longer - at least 2 or 3 times as longer, depending on your printing needs. I print a lot of writing more than anything, so the extra black ink is perfect for me. Purchasing it online here was less expensive than Office Max/Office Depot, and it comes with a plastic bag that you can put the empty in and send it back to HP to recycle. And the postage is already paid for by HP! So stick the empty in the bag, seal it and drop it in the mail. I definitely recommend this brand and this ink cartridge.
