Looking forward to making all my best soup in a much higher standard. I gave this purchase a great deal of research and it payed off with a great result. This pot is a great size for 12qt. The 10qt will fit closer to a burner width. The weight will keep your pot steady while cooking. The substantial bottom will help lower the chances of a charred soup. You should never go far from a lit burner ;^) The handles are strong enough to carry the heaviest soup pot to the table. FYI-Always test for heat before grabbing the handles. The clear cover allows to watch without lowering the temperature. Don't let the price fool you... THIS IS a quality soup (& other good food) pot. A top $$ pot does not ensure that it is the best. After 50 years in my own kitchen I still get "giddy" over a new addition that will go to another generation of making comfort food for family meals.

Love that the lid has a vent in the glass, it is super easy to clean and works GREAT on my inductive cook top. This is a great bargain, built solid and cost isn't outrageously high. Get one, you will be glad.
