We have gone through all kinds of vacuums, corded, cordless, and robot. Still have a corded Dyson for deep, heavy cleaning. Went through the latest Dyson V11, nice machine but connections on the stick were weak, started breaking. Went to the new Shark, nice but loud. Worked well, a bit heavy. Saw a commercial for this LG and checked it out. After all their TV and oven we have are exceptional. Turns out the vacuum is pretty nifty too. Yeah, expensive, but the technology and abilities make it worth it. It has two batteries, so use time is extended a long time. It is very lightweight, surprisingly so. The suction is strong, no problem picking up bird seed, popcorn, and other normal carpet detritus. No switch to push between carpet and flooring. The fringe on the carpet has not (yet) gotten caught up, even after pushing it up more than halfway. That actually straightens out the fringe. Easy to lift over because of the lack of weight. So far haven’t needed to use the compact button, would take a lot of vacuuming to fill it up enough. Really nice to just stick it in the stand and have the dirt get automatically sucked out and into a bag. Simple to put together, just put on the non-skid tape, set the unit on the base, plug it in, attach accessories. Just wish there was some storage for the floor mops. Ended up velcroing the bag on the back of the stand. Also need a place to stick extra bags so I don’t forget where they are. Yep, really big complaints there. We believe this was well worth the cost. Little update concerning fringe. Purposely ran over the fringe numerous times from both sides. Was cringing, expecting screaming noise an stoppage from jamming. Nope, cringing unnecessarily, nothing happened. The fringe got sucked in, could see it kind of flapping on top of the brush, but no loud noise and no stopping or even slowing. I really liked it, but the base of the tower was cracked, and I had to send it back! I tried everything except the wet mop. I really didn't expect to get much up, because I vacuumed last week (only 2 clean freaks in the house). Much to my surprise, it pulled up a lot of stuff! It was easy to unpack. The tower houses all the tools. The cleaning function worked great. It emptied all the dirt. I read all the instructions, which I think is important for running it at it's best. I'll be ordering a new one. My only negatives are that the vacuum heads seem cheaply made for the money. The plastic seems like it will break easily. The battery does run down quickly on power modes, and it did start feeling heavy by the time I was done vacuuming 3600 Sq Ft. ... show more

Vacuum itself is great - battery life could certainly be improved but at least there's always a backup. It's so easy to use that I vacuum my house way more than I did before I got it. However, the base station stopped emptying the vacuum after less than 4 months. There's a small actuator that is supposed to open the bin door, and that no longer locks in place. Instead, the entire vacuum gets locked into the base station and you can't get it out unless you power cycle the station. LG support has so far refused to repair or replace it - despite it being well withing warranty. Stay away - stick with Dyson, and hope that they come out with a self-emptying station of their own. ... show more

I am so happy I bought this, It’s a really brilliant product. I love how all of the accessories pack into the one tower. The suction on the vacuum is consistent and strong. The self emptying and self charging capacity of this device makes it one that I would highly recommend. It’s a great purchase. If you vacuum up anything that is too large, it is easy to unclog the vacuum. It is quite noisy, but I would not say it is above average. I was going to buy this or the Dyson and I am thrilled that I purchased this one because in many respects, especially with regards to it design visually It is far superior to the Dyson. It is also the equivalent of suction and cleaning power of top-tier vacuums. I would not hesitate to purchase this if you are not sure. ... show more

Unfortunately, I did not use it but we are still waiting for the older/ previous version without the tower. Why didn’t we use it and returned the item straight away? Because the tower requires at least 8” of space to open the side doors to get access to accessories etc. and in reality you need more space because you need to actually get to the stuff, I.e. you hands and arms also need space. We wanted to have it in our pantry and there is other stuff left and right. If you plan to have this free-standing in your home, this looks good and probably works well. If you have a ‘slot’ allotted to it, the beauty and functionality of the tower is greatly diminished. My recommendation: if you have about 16” of space left and right from the tower, you will be fine and can enjoy the product. Otherwise, it’s a compromise. An expensive one. [update: we received the previous model in the meantime and I like it much better than the Dyson V8 we had before. Main points are: - better suction, feels lighter on the wrist, sound is less annoying, extra battery is a big plus as we frequently ran out of juice on the Dyson and with the LG you always have a fully charged second battery at hand. Do yourself a favor and get any of the ‘Kompressor’ models- otherwise you end up with your fingers in the dirt to just empty the beast.] ... show more

Great vacuum, however you would think with one of its value, and rather above average reputation they would figure out a way to put a light on it. Also buying used it did not come with a handbook . I’m pretty sure I can find one online. I gave it five stars because it was shipped in great packaging and appeared nice and I did get the white one that I’ve waited for but , there was a dent inside of the compartment that gathers the dirt. I hope it keeps on working well and that it has no future effect on its performance. I will wait and see. So far it’s what I expected from my favorite L. G. Brand.
