I’ll be using this mainly to store music and DJ (Serato) and occasionally drop photos/footage from my phone. Read and write speeds are fast if you’re not transferring large files at a time. My first initial “large” music transfer was around 100gb and it took 11 minutes. Pretty much a gb every 2 seconds. Pretty fast for a flash drive imo. Also, I tried it with davinci resolve and it was scrubbing through the videos (2k) just fine. It also doesn’t get hot when being used. A little warm but not bad at all. I had a 1000mb/s flash drive but had to return it due to it heating up pretty bad while it was in use. But since the Lexar draws less power it doesn’t nearly get as hot as the faster flash drives. Overall great buy. Small, not too small with decent build. Fast speeds for a flash drive enough to work off of and it Doesn’t get hot. 👍👍

I ran this through my standard USB drive testing methodology: full capacity verification plus sustained read/write testing on two separate machines (macOS and Ubuntu Server), across both the USB-A and USB-C connectors, using ddrescue with direct I/O (cache disabled) so I'm looking at real, uncached numbers. Capacity: 100% true. All 124,623 MB (124GB / 116GiB) verified real and addressable. Read speed: Consistently 274-282 MB/s sustained across both USB-A (Ubuntu) and USB-C (macOS), zero errors across the full drive. Write speed: A steady 132 MB/s sustained on both connectors and hosts, with zero degradation from start to finish and zero bad areas. Worth noting that this lands under the drive's advertised "up to 360MB/s write" spec. This is what you'll actually get once you're moving real, sustained volumes of data, not the cache-assisted burst number you'll see on a quick test. Another caveat is this was a sequential read and write, random reads and writes will be slower. Reliability: Rock solid. No dropped connections, no driver headaches, nothing to work around. I plugged this drive into both a Mac and a Linux box and just worked with no need to tweak drivers or quirks on the Ubuntu server. If you need the fastest flash drive money can buy, there are premium options out there that beat this on raw write speed, but at a much higher price. For what this actually costs, getting honest, consistent, error-free performance backed by a verified true capacity is exactly what you'd hope for in this price range. The sustained write speed comes in under the box's headline number (but still excellent), but nothing else about this drive misled me, and the value here is excellent. Overall an excellent drive and money well spent, plug and play simplicity at its finest.

These drives are perfect for Linux distros! I have used two of them across two different PCs, both with Debian. I tried to cheap out and use a low quality normal USB drive for one of my secondary devices, and it ran absolutely terrible. That $22 drive took over 3 minutes to boot and be usable, with everything in the OS being broken or slow and taking minutes to shutdown. I cloned the drive to one of these ($50) and it works flawlessly, booting up in about 20-30 seconds and running all of my startup scripts perfectly. Well worth the extra money. They do not get too hot at least for what I use them for, since I use an external SSD for storage and these are just for the OS, but they are dependable, reasonably priced, and compact. Perfect for what I need, and I will buy more for future projects!

I picked this SSD up to expand my storage, and it has been a great upgrade. Installation was straightforward, and it was recognized immediately without any issues. It's been fast, responsive, and exactly what I was looking for. Performance has been excellent so far. Boot times are quick, files transfer fast, and everything feels more responsive. It's handled everyday use without any hiccups, and it's been reliable from day one. Overall, this is a solid SSD at a good value. If you're looking for dependable performance and an easy storage upgrade, I'd definitely recommend it.

It’s incredibly challenging to use on certain devices. It’s difficult to insert and remove it, likely due to its metal structure. Despite this, it has a great design, an ideal size, and is well-built. it also works very well with my iPhone 17 Pro Max.

Love the drive. I got a few other ones off Amazon that were cheaper and it was awful. 1 or 2 wouldn't work or the uploading speed was so slow. Its quick uploading files onto the drive and easy to switch between usb and usbc.

Rare to find a product that is perfectly as described any more, and I had never used any sort of Lexar memory device so I was apprehensive. Glad I purchased it. Works very well, rarely gets warm even under heavy data transfers. Even then, warm, not hot, barely noticeable. This is normal. In fact, most drives get hot to touch. This does not. Great for storing digital media or as a backup device, which is what I purchased it for. The USB-C connection into a phone is also ideal; they seem to have designed that end slightly longer than other similar devices. I know this because I can leave my phone's case on and still plug this in with a secure fit. Other USB drives with a USB-C connections will stay loose or you have to take the case off because they cannot mind the overhang of the case around the port. I was not looking for this, but it is definitely a bonus. This drive will be tight into some USB ports especially certain brands of laptops. This is not a concern, and this is common with quality USB devices. 5/5

I bought this to take on travels to back up photos. I've found those with plastic cases do not hold up to traveling, but this metal one is sturdy. It also is very fast.
