My Tesla charging cable failed after several years, so I replaced it with the SEGUMA Level 2 EV Charger. The SEGUMA cable is longer and has a very useful control panel that provides interesting and reassuring information about power and charging status. The cable developed issues after several months of continuous use, but SEGUMA support was very responsive and resolved the issue quickly. I purchased this level 2 charger as a replacement for my original Tesla 14-50 Level 2 charger. Unit arrived promptly, appeared to be fairly good quality. I set it up for charging after reading the manual. Unit charged my Tesla at up to 32 amps which was good. I unplugged the unit and 2 weeks later plugged it in to charge my car and the unit connector plug button didn’t work after repeated attempts to open the charge port door. I plugged my original Tesla charger in and it immediately opened my charge port door confirming it was not a vehicle malfunction. Since I read other reviews of this product not functioning properly, I decided to return this purchase for a full refund.

It was working fine for 2 months than I started getting a message on my Tesla that charging stopped. I bought an actual Tesla charger and issue went away. Do not buy! Safe your self the headache and just buy a Tesla charger.

I bought this to replace my OEM first gen home charger. I found this product the be superior to the build quality of the Tesla charger. I plug into a 30amp dryer outlet so the Tesla charger would at times trip the breaker if it went beyond 30amps. I would set my Model S not to exceed 24amps at home however if the Tesla did a software update or the display would reboot due to crash, the charger would default back to its max amperage charge exceeding 30amps. With this unit, you can set it permanently at whatever amperage you need without having to worry of the Tesla reset the charging amperage back to default. The cord is 5 feet longer than Teslas and handle button works like the OEM charger. Most aftermarket Tesla chargers do not open the charge door with the button however this one does. I highly recommend this charger if you are needing a charger that handles 30amps or less.

I’ve been using it for about three months now and it is working flawlessly. I’m using it at 24 A because I’m on a 30 amp breaker. I already had a 240 V outlet, so installation was just a matter of hanging it on the wall and plugging it in.
