  • Good Little Fryer
Color: Silver/3.4L
I like the size of this little fryer. I've been looking for a deep fryer but I didn't want another plug in appliance. I wanted one I could use on my stove top. There are only two people in my household so I didn't need something big. The instructions didn't say how much oil to use so I put in four cups of oil and that was enough to make french fries from scratch and fried fish. The instructions said the amount of oil to use was indicated on the product label. I didn't see a label with that info though. The thermometer is in Celsius so you have to do a quick Google query to convert Fahrenheit to Celsius from your recipes. No big deal. My first time everything turned out crispy and delicious. 😋 For cleanup, I bought some oil solidifier for easy disposal. ... show more

  • why didn't someone tell me about this years ago!
Color: Wine Red/2.2L
the range top and walls were always covered in grease after frying anything. But this has cut the cleaning time dramatically. it is the perfect size to cook in too. the thermometer helps me to regulate the temp on what i am preparing, and the lid and depth keeps grease from splattering everywhere. i like the idea of the drainer rack on the inside of the lid ,but it is a bit small. it would be ideal if you are cooking a single item like a single piece of chicken at a time, but for items like french fries the have a tendency to fall back in when on the sloping lid. ... show more

  • Not the best, but not bad
Color: Silver/3.4L
It isn't fully what I expected, but for the price, it did exactly what I wanted it to do. My fried chicken was great. Not recommended if you have a house hold more than 2-3 people as it isn't that big. Only fits up to two large chicken breasts just FYI. But I am happy with it. And it is small enough to fit in the oven drawer below so it is easy to store. Cleaning was a breeze too. The resting rack was very convenient. ... show more

  • Challenge bad reviews I’m generally happy
Color: Wine Red/2.2L
I ordered the Lego tempura pot. Before ordering I read the reviews. Most were good some bad. Complaining about fit and finish , quality, and pot construction, and weight. I have a food service background so I’m familiar with pots and pans. I will be honest with this review the pot is heavier than I anticipated a few of the reviews said it was to thin. Not true nice weight not heavy but nice. Reviews said interior peeling the instructions address the issue my guess is user mistake. Nice size for a tempura pot. It’s not a chicken broaster it wasn’t designed to cook for ten people it’s for tempura light frying small batches kinda like a fondue. I paid less than 40 dollars for the fryer for the price it’s a good deal. For the people who complained about quality there are some really nice tempura pots for two hundred plus dollars. Keep in mind it’s a 40 dollar pan good purchase not great but is as advertised ... show more

  • Meh… don’t bother.
Color: Wine Red/2.2L
The media could not be loaded. The size is small. Good for one or two people but too small to cook for a family unless you've loads of time to fry small batches at a time (like three or four chicken wings or one to two chicken legs at a time... doubt a breast would fit even if you could put enough oil in it to make it deep enough to fry a breast. A larger fish filet would need to be cut up first. The width in the description includes the handles on the sides. The actual cooking part is less than 8 inches wide. The metal is quite thin and the pot is very light. You can see just how thin the metal is and that is the material the whole pot is made from. When you look at the pictures, look closely at where the lid attaches to the "hinges". I wish I had. You need to squish in the tabs to hold the top in place. (it comes unassembled) Maybe it's just me, but you shouldn't be able to squeeze in the tabs of a metal cooking pot so easily. That does not bode well for longevity or durability. And as it is so light, even when filled with oil, it would be easy to knock over while cooking. The draining lid lays too flat to drain effectively. Overall, unimpressed. Would not buy again. Edited after use: Don’t buy this. It’s a waste of money. As you can see in the video, it doesn’t sit stably on a glass top stove. It is easily rocked, and continues rocking. Definitely a hazard on the stove. I allowed the top to drop closed so you could appreciate the cheapness of the material it’s made from. In less than two minutes, right at 160 degrees, it scorched the outside of the fish. The opening is so small, to turn the fish over, you have to place the fish on the lid first. (The filets are less than 5” long.) When the fish was cooking, it displaced the thermometer to a point which the lid was prevented from closing. Don’t waste your time and money. ... show more

  • Not what I expected
Color: Wine Red/2.2L
I was expecting a heavy pot with a neat lid feature that made frying small items easier. What I got was a pretty, round pot with a thermometer attached with a cumbersome lid. This is a boil eggs or warm up soup kind of pot. Not what I would use for frying but some might. I could easily find a pot like this at a discount store minus the lid. For me, this is not for serious cooking. It's cute tho. ... show more

  • Love it
Color: Wine Red/2.2L
This is more compact a pan than I thought, but is a great size for when I make tonkatsu, which is at least once a month. I was dumping the oil every time before, but with this and it's small size it's easy to keep under the sink so I've been saving $$$ on the peanut and veggie oils I like to blend for it; it's paid for itself that way several times over already. Also have used it for tempura and making chicken strips; the shape and volume of it are just right for maintaining a proper oil temperature on our glass top stove with minimal heat waste. The draining rack is big enough to hold 2 pieces of katsu or 4 chicken strips while the next batch is cooking. The pour spout on the back is perfect for draining the oil into another container after you let the floaties settle to the bottom; then you just wipe out the crumbs with a paper towel, replace the oil, and store it back under the sink. ... show more
