I live in FL so the need for a heavy duty outdoor heater is not exactly high. However I started smoking cigars on the patio and really don't like doing so when it's in the 50's or 40's. I looked around at various places and found this heater to be the lowest price at the time (just under 90). I received it and most parts were in good condition however the base was scratched and dented, as it was an outdoor heater and bound to get scratches anyway I didn't want to go through a whole rigmarole of returning. Assembly was a pain but manageable (I didn't like that they screwed many of the bolts on so you had to remove them and put them back when the parts were assembled, why not leave them in a bag like everything else? I wish height was adjustable as this thing stands about 8' high and I'd get more heat out of it at 6' since I'm sitting but that's a small complaint. It directs heat downward and I'm able to run it at a low setting most of the time getting adequate heat. This is overkill for FL but at the price I pulled the trigger. Shop around as other sites and warehouse clubs will put these on sale all the time (this one is probably near the bottom end but these aren't exactly complicated so you probably don't need high end) Changing the tank is a bit of a pain, would be nice if something was available to hook the enclosure on holding it up so you could easily add/remove a tank, other models have a door that opens. There's no shelf for storage on the unit like some others have but I could care less, I wasn't using it for that. Overall for price I give 4 stars the ding from having the scratch/dented base, this should have been sold as "like new" condition or "very good" at a slight discount not brand new to get 5 stars. ... show more

We received this item as a gift but also purchased 2 others for our family members. We have all set ours up and have been using them through the colder evenings and they work great! Set up was easy and we did not have to prime the line or anything before firing it up. It’s distributes heat well, Is the light weight to move, and it looks great on the patio. This was definitely a five star purchase. We have used ours several times and so has my brother. None of us have had any issues at all whatsoever. ... show more

This is well worth the money on cold nights out on the patio. The only thing We didn’t care for is that even on the low setting this thing will go through a full bottle of propane if used a few times a couple hours each time. It’s anywhere from 20-30 dollars for a new bottle with an exchange otherwise there about $50-60. The cost of propane either way adds up quick if you enjoy sitting outside with friends and family at night. Otherwise great product and not hard to put together. ... show more

We bought this as a gift to ourselves for our hot tub and patio deck and we JUST took it out of the box and assembled it in about 30 minutes and put it out next to the hot tub and we love it! It keeps heat moving downward and actually kept us toasty on low! I will buy it again when this one no longer works! Don’t forget to buy the cover! ... show more

Easy to assemble. The only problem I have encountered with the finished unit is the Igniter is NOT dependable, but I've never found one that is dependable. It functions but it takes far too long to actually light the gas unit. A much quicker way is using an electric match. huge dent when took out of box and box was padded so can only assume sent that way. Was able to push dents out but was not happy about that. Took about 25 minutes to put together, but works well and produces great heat.. I bit wobbly top heavy even with the propane tank in it.
