This oven is quite large and is EXACTLY what I wanted. The large top makes it easy to use, and it can function almost like a wok. It seems to distribute heat very well and an evenly, and allows one to use a lower temperature setting than one would use with other vessels. The single drawback is that it is a bit of a challenge, so to say, for cleaning, because of its size and weight. I use my chef's oven for pretty much everything at this point! It's a less expensive alternative to the dutch oven and works great for soups, one-pot dinners, etc. I'm a huge fan. The only thing I don't love is how hard it can be to clean because it's heavy -- but what can you expect from a 7.5qt cast iron chef's oven?? LOL ... show more

First time with a Le Creuset product. It is beautiful and functions better than my cheap Dutch oven which gave up the ghost. I use it to make artisan bread, soups, stews, and roasts. I am of the mindset now that it is better to buy a quality item once vs cheap multiple times. It is lighter than I was expecting and heats up evenly.
