Description

Turn out restaurant-caliber frittatas and gold-star gravies with this 11-3/4-inch enameled cast-iron skillet from the French line Le Creuset. Coated with a chip-resistant porcelain enamel, the skillet offers the even heat and gentle cooking of cast-iron without reaction to foods or the usual high maintenance. The integral iron handle is oven-safe to 500-degrees F, so the skillet can go straight from the freezer to the burner to the broiler. An easy-to-grip helper handle makes the pan's substantial weight manageable, while dual pour spouts accommodate right-or left-handers. Le Creuset's porcelain enamel livens up the kitchen or table, comes with a lifetime warranty, and cleans up in the dishwasher.

  • We love our Fat Fennel Le Creuset 11 3/4 Inch Skillet!
I cannot praise Le Creuset products enough. They are such wonderful cooking tools. This skillet spreads heat evenly & efficiently, the pour spouts are amazing, making pouring simple & with less fuss. A quality product; once you have Le Creuset you won't want anything else. Because of this no-fuss, quality cooking tool, the flavor of the food is really enhanced, tastes as it should. Simple, efficient cooking. Their products do warrant care, so read your care instructions & cooking directions carefully. Since the skillet is cast-iron, it is heavy & you will need to use hot pads for the handle & extra grip, another awesome feature, by the way. Le Creuset uses enamel in just about all of their products, including this skillet (they do have a stainless steel line out now), so avoid using metal cooking utensils as they will scratch away at the enamel. The skillet heats up evenly and does not require as high of heat for the majority of stove-top cooking. This is stated in the booklet & we've found it to be true; the cooking we've done with him has required a lower heat than what we would use with a similar product made from a different material. This type of information and other instructions are in the information booklet that you will receive with your Le Creuset product, so once you read, are aware, & adhere to these, you will have a wonderful skillet for life. Accordingly, Le Creuset has a lifetime guarantee on their products. Not too shabby! Plus, there are so many colors to choose from! We really love our 11 3/4 Fat Fennel (yes, we name our cooking tools;). He is not too blue, not too yellow, but a nice balance of the two: a great green. And this is a wonderful size, you can cook just about anything with it. If you take care of this product, it will take care of you & the food you cook in it for a long time! :):) <3 ... show more

  • Le Cruset Glamour and utility
Color: Marseille
A great pan for what ever you are cooking. Great size, ease of use and clean up, heats evenly and shows your great taste in cookware. But its really an awesome pan, which is why they have the rep they do!! No, not a great value for money, but when you consider how long you’ll have the pan and its usefulness, cheaper pans just won’t cut it. Buy quality for durability and a lifetime of use!! ... show more

  • I love, love, love this skillet!!
Color: Cherry
First of all, let me say I agree with the reviewer who deducted stars from the 9" skillet due to the non-stick coating. Since non-stick coatings are chemicals, I refuse to use any cooking utensil with the coating on them. The original, baked enamel finish on this skillet works great. The secret is using moderate heat and adding oil once the pan warms up, then adding the food items. If the meat sticks, it will unstick as it carmelizes (this also applies to their grilling skillets). I find that I can just wipe mine out and keep using it until I make chili or something messy like that. Then all I do is fill the skillet with water and let it sit a while, then it rinses clean. At the maximum, I've taken a boar bristle brush to a couple of spots once or twice, that's all. I beseech this company to leave the non-stick coating off their skillets even though one reviewer below seems to prefer it. Or at the minimum give the consumer a choice but I'd bet most would prefer the original, satin finish. In fact, I bought this skillet because of the fired enamel finish as I discovered my well-known name brand stainless steel skillet and stew/pasta pot has too much nickel in them so I can't use them. Anyway, I love this skillet. It makes a good wok too as the burner is under the center of the pan. I can fry up one veggie, push it off to the side where it stays warm while I fry the next one, then push it over until I'm finished. Did I say I loved this skillet? I wish they made a lid for this skillet as I had to buy another brand which doesn't match but it works. Since most skillets come without lids, this is being silly, I agree. So then, I highly recommend this skillet both for cooking and for easy clean-up. ... show more

  • Nice, I love this!
This is one of my go to pans and I use it daily. It is great for every thing you may need to pan fry. The quality is superb. Very heavy, very easy to clean (I put mine in the dishwasher with no worries, ever). I love the fact that they are nice to display since the blue enamel is so nice.

  • This skillet is fantastic!
I ordered this skillet from Amazon in 2006 and paid $99.95 for it (it is $139.95 now - wow!). I have used it hundreds of times over the past four years, and I credit this skillet in my becoming a pretty good cook. It browns food evenly and beautifully - and as Anne Burrell says, brown food = BIG FLAVOR. I use it for stir-fries, to sear steaks and chops (and then into the oven to finish), to saute vegetables, make sauces, you name it. Does the pan have hot spots? Sure it does, but they are not bad and once you have cooked in it several dozen times, you will know how to navigate them. Remember, this pan is not non-stick, so no noxious chemicals flaking off into your food. I will gladly trade that for a few hot spots. Cleanup is easy with hot water and soap - like other reviewers have said, learn to love the soak! Never, ever put this in the dishwasher. The patina gets better with age and helps food brown better. I will create many thousands of meals in this beautiful skillet in the years to come. ... show more
