I like the size and speed of this scan tool. So far it does everything I need it to do and it does it well. The software updates are quick as is communicating with the vehicle. Bidirectional controls work well, I do wish it had topology but for the price point and the fact that it is compatible with CAN FD I'm not complaining. The info center has operation tips, dtc tips, a technology handbook and x-431 fix(comes with a free trial). Very happy with the versatility of this tool so far. I'm looking forward to seeing what else it is capable of.

As an automotive technician for 18 years, I have used many different diagnostics scan tools. The Launch X431 PROS V+ has far exceeded my expectations! The price does not reflect it's ability. The device is small, light, and fairly quick at loading. Data acquisition is not the fastest, but it is helpful at getting the job done. Having full bidirectional controls is a must have in a good scan tool, which this device has. I find it very useful for setting the electronic parking in maintenance mode. Grabbing the X431 is so much faster than setting up the factory tool just to scan codes and check data. You can do a full system scan and generate a vehicle report, show all vehicle DTCs. The report can be printed and attached to the repair order or emailed to a client. I was worried about leaving the wireless OBD dongle behind in a vehicle, however when it disconnects there is a reminder alarm from the handheld. Overall my experience has been great and I have recommended Launch to my co-workers that are looking for a scanner and do not want to spend $$$$!

I got this in January and was pleased to see all that came with it. i didnt get to actually use it until march. all the the stuff it can do awesome. when i went to use it again i had forgotten the screen lock pattern. so i reset the tablet. thats when the problems started. i tried to login to the website to download the app. the website said my login name and password were wrong. i kept trying only to get that my password was wrong. i tried to have a link sent to my email address to reset password. several times i had a link sent yet the email never showed up. i have never received the link to reset my password. i tried to live chat hoping to get help that way. nobody answered me back. knowing they were in china i tried at different times of the day. still never got a response. i tried to set up another account but my information was already attached to another account. i was able to finally get into website to download the app, not through my account. when i started app it asked me for my account information to login. which of course it would not let me login. i tried again with the online chat. still no help. i tried sending email messages to the email address for support. to which i did get an answer. again the website said wrong password. i sent more messages through chat and it would take 2 days to get a reply back telling me to go to the website and download app and update. still couldnt get into account. asked them for more help. they told me to download app from website which i did. still cant get into website to update the app so i can use it. now its been 11 months since i bought this. only used it 2 times. now i need it to work. still cant get into website, cant update app, cant get online support, cant get email support, cant get chat support except to be told that they are only a dealer and not the manufacturer. its been to long now so i cant return it and get my $1000 back and buy one from a different company. i even tried getting help from them through Facebook a couple of times. never got a reply back from anyone accept another user who asked me why i said not to buy it.

I purchased this unit for my 2023 Chevy Bolt EUV. Works very well after updating the software. It also has bidirectional control and replacement parts coding. It has fast boot up and fast response time working through the menus. It also works well on my 2016 Ram diesel pickup. No problems setting up and updating. Very nice little unit for mobile diagnostics all in one case. The wireless DLC dongle works very well and was also easy to update the firmware. It also has a tone to notify you to remove the dongle when closing the software when you're done so you don't leave it attached to the DLC. It also has rubberized protection in case you drop the tablet. Can't beat it for the money and the 2 year updates even make that much better.

I recently purchased this LAUNCH X431 PROS V+ Elite Bidirectional Scan Tool. As someone who’s comfortable around cars but not a mechanic by trade, I think this is a fantastic scan tool for anyone in general, but with it’s bidirectional capabilities and other advanced functions, it is absolutely geared towards professionals as well who rely on scan tools such as this in their everyday lives. In my experience of using it, this tool has been very accurate in finding and detailing problems (which I confirmed with other diagnostic tools I own), even finding other issues that my other tried and true scan tools did not. This scan tool is responsive, incredibly so. It’s very quick to perform diagnostic scans without making you wait long at all. In addition, it is very easy to navigate and not spend a lot of time searching for the function or test that you need, given that the Home Screen is very well laid out and menus very easy to navigate. This scan tool is built incredibly well! It definitely was designed to take some abuse seeing how well constructed it is and how solid it feels in your hands. The scan tool has 37+ reset functions, it is capable of ECU Coding, IMMO Functions, OEM Diagnostics, and it comes with CANFD connector which allows for diagnosing more vehicle all the way up to the newest 2024 makes and models. Some of the features it has are: Adblue Reset, key programming, VAG Guided Functions, Programmable Module Installation, ECU Coding, a range of online features, and reset functions like EPB, Suspension, oil, ABS, SRS, Throttle, BMS, and many more. I couldn’t possibly cover all of the features that this scan tool has in its arsenal in a single review. Overall, I feel this is LAUNCH X431 PROS V+ Elite is an incredibly capable scan tool for a hobbyist, or a professional mechanics who rely on the features and functions that this scan tool has in their everyday lives. It’s capable of doing more things than I’m sure I would ever need in my lifetime! I’m incredibly happy with it and I’m very happy I chose this one out of the others I was considering. I feel this one is without question worth every penny and then some!

This scantool is awesome, the only setback is the price. This does almost every function a dealer tool does and is easy to use. After the free period, updates are crazy expensive and if your a diyer your paying for a lot of function that you probably won’t use. It does have the availability to connect to a repair guide data base for a subscription to that program, which is pretty expensive. Overall, this thing is awesome, I just think for the cost of it they should provide a discount to the repair database. I also would have liked to have the option to connect with a cable in case the Bluetooth thing stops working. I put a screen protector on mine, it’s just a Lenovo tablet in a nice case, no screen protector.

Before getting the diagnostic with CAN FD, I was using a regular diagnostic tool that didn't support CAN FD. While it was helpful to some extent, I often found myself frustrated with its limitations. The biggest problem was the sluggishness and the time it took to retrieve and process diagnostic data from my vehicle. Man. let me tell you. before |snagged this product. was stuck in an Amazon rabbit hole for what felt like forever! There were so many darn similar products messing with my head like V PRO ELITE, and whatnot. I couldn't even figure out the dang difference between 'em all. But after squinting at the screen for ages, i finally caught on that this one here came with a canfd connector, while the others didn't seem to have that fancy feature. With the CAN FD support, this new diagnostic tool is lightning fast in communicating with my vehicle's electronic control units. The data transfer rate is through the roof, and it feels like the tool is having a turbo boost of its own! Now, when I connect the diagnostic tool to my vehicle's CAN FD-enabled OBD-II port, it quickly retrieves a vast amount of diagnostic information. It's like the tool has superpowers compared to my old one. This newfound speed and efficiency have made a world of difference for me. I spend way less time waiting for data to load, and more time actually diagnosing and troubleshooting my vehicle's issues. It's like I have a professional-grade diagnostic tool right in my hands, and I fee much more confident in my ability to pinpoint and address problems.
