I have been a professional in automotive repair for over 30 years. This tool was purchased to perform diagnosis on all makes and models at an affordable price point. At first unboxing, It comes in its own case, with extra storage provided in the case above. When it was first turned on the battery was at 97%. and easily prompted me through the setups required, After entering wifi settings, There were 57 updates available. I expected it to take a long time to update. It only took about 10 minutes. The tool was then ready to use. I chose the setting to auto read when plugged in, It pulls VIN and information very fast. then scans every module on the vehicle. Or shows that it is missing. That takes a minute, But I always start a diagnosis with a full vehicle scan. After finishing the auto scan, You can choose any module you wish to look deeper into. Most modules that have alot of data in them are broken down into sections accordingly. Examples are; In PCM it shows EGR data list, TAC data list, O2 Data list etc. In HVAC data it shows Actuator data list, A/C data list etc. You can select all of the data in this section, or just the pids that pertain to what you are diagnosing. So that way you dont have data on multiple screens you are trying to evaluate. The bi-directional test and relearns are located here also. It seems to hit all of them. I was impressed with the graphing abilities also. I have attached a photo of the 4 O2s being graphed and then as the throttle is applied. This is performed with an easy one touch selection process. I watched my APP and TPS data on graph also and it appeared to be fast and accurate. In ABS/TCS I could graph all WSS and VSS together. At this price point, this scan tool is very capable. This tool is very easy to use. everything is placed in easy to locate catergories. It is also very simple to look at all the I/M monitors to be sure it has ran and passed all DTCs. My biggest disappointment with this tool, Is that it is not wireless. DLC cord is not long enough to reach an engine compartment, or the rear of a vehicle for testing. I see that there is a DLC extension cable available from the seller also. It would be a wise investment to purchase this cord. If you can live with a cord, I expect you to not be disappointed with this scan tool. I also purchased the tire pressure monitor reset tool. I was able to activate and learn the tire positions on my GM vehicles. ... show more

The prefect OBD scanner for the price. Let me tell you this device has all what you need. It diagnose the vehicle in simple steps. It is perfect to program keys. Like the way the reset functions work out. My ac was not working at times so I used the reset function of the AC system relearn initialization and fixed the problem. I have the autel mx808 but this scanner is way better!! This tool is a must have !!!! Can’t beat the price. Excellent!!!! ... show more

    • Great scanner and functionality, but operating system software needs major update.
This is a great little scanner for the price point. I have used it on a few vehicles now, and it has done everything I have needed. I bought a obd cord extension. I prefer the cord as I have another scanner with the dongle, and I always forget it. I will break this review into 2 sections, the good and the bad. The Good: 1. Extensive coverage for most vehicles. 2. Frequent updates 3. Is FCA compatible 4. The key programing function is easy to use. Works well on supported vehicles. I needed to program keys for a 2008 Dodge Ram 1500. Did 2 keys in less than 3 minutes. 5. Kickstand on the unit. I like to hang on steering wheels or set or on flat surfaces. The Bad: 1. The interface is a little bare. Easy to use, but when you go to data mode, and you have over 190 pids, a search function would be great ! Takes a while to scroll through the pics. 2. Graphing - for this price point I understand only 4 pids at a time. What I don't like is you can only view the graphs in live mode as combined. Other scanners in this price range are starting to let you view the pids as 4 individual boxes. Much easier to monitor. The Xtool D7 already has this option. 3. I would like to see a option to go to the browser. You can get there by using the link on a dtc, and than go anywhere from there, but a headache. 4. I would like to see an option to save the health scan report instead of having to email it to myself. I like to save them before I clear codes. If you go to each system and scan individually, than you can save directly to the scanner. Summary: The scanner functions I will give a 5. The software is really basic, and needs the above issues taken care of. So I will give the software a 3, as it is usable, but not friendly. I am an advanced hobbyist for diagnostics. I have a full diag cart set up with scope, smoke machines etc. , so I own a couple other scanners. This is my go to scanner for bidirectional controls. WARNING ! This scanner two years ago would be high end. If you aren't sure what you are doing, read the service information from Mitchell, All Data etc before performing some of the functions. ... show more
