Overall, this is a product that promises and delivers high functionality at a reasonable price. Therefore, if you're looking for a value for money scanner with multipurpose functionalities, this is a worthy investment.

  • Great Product!
Excellent product for modifying the codes in a Porsche 718 to customize your driving experience. You can clear codes, reset maintenance, and check trouble codes as well. Wanna turn off the insufferable auto stop start "feature" or drop the Boxster top with your fob? This tool can do that and a multitude of other things. Do some research on coding before attempting changes to the code or you will certainly get lost and almost certainly break something. Search "Brush Coding 718" and you should find what you are looking for. ... show more

  • Two thumbs up, very good tool
As an ASE certified technician with 27 years of experience and many many scan tools I can easily say this is an impressive tool. The features of this tool is really where it stands out. The resets and configuration function of this tool make this really worth the money. The crp919e will reset oil life percentage, battery renewals, diesel particulate filters, sunroofs, coding for injectors, window resets, abs brake bleeding, steering angle resets, and those are just a few of the capabilities. In addition to that it is still a full featured scan tool that will read and erase codes read the data stream perform actuation tests so that you can test individual components quickly. It will also perform certain levels of PMI (programmable module installation) which is where the tool will get the information from the old module and write that information on to the new module. Big name brand scan tools that cost thousands of dollars will not complete all of the things that this tool will do. The hardware is also impressive for this tool. It is a corded tool which means you will not be losing any Bluetooth dongles and it will be charging while you are using it. The 7-in screen displays text large enough to easily be read and the graphing is very good. The case on the tool has rubber bumpers so that it can survive being dropped from a reasonable height. The software on the tool is also really well done. The main menu is organized really well and finding information is simple. After a vehicle is scanned you can produce a report and email it to yourself or someone else and it looks very professional. The menus on the tool are labeled properly and if you click on something many times it will have a dialog box that details what that test does and asks you if you want to proceed especially if doing so could cause a problem if done wrong. It's easy to recommend this tool because it has a great feature set as well as good hardware. ... show more

  • Not a US based product.
The scan tool itself is fairly versatile with lots of options and capabilities, however should you run into issues with the unit like I have you will not be able to get support through normal channels. The manufacturer will tell you " this is not a unit that was made for retail in the US please reach out to our overseas support" the overseas support typically takes 4 to 5 business days to email you back with a response that is not related to anything you have asked or stated, just the generic reset and reinstall, over and over and over again. The TeamViewer function is a handy function that worked once and never again. I have been trying since this unit was about a month old to get this feature back working with no help from the manufacturer or support. They basically told me to return the unit. If I return the unit as I am while outside the normal return window I face roughly $100 in restocking fees which will make it to where I cannot order another one of similar functions. ... show more

  • Easy for a novice to use.
The Launch X431 CRP919E was purchased so I could make code changes to my car. So far I have successfully customized the way my convertible top opens and closed, turned on backlighting for the cluster gauges, adjusted the number of times the turn signal flashes, and enabled teardrop for my wipers. I'm following instructions that I found on a Forum. The CPR919E has worked flawlessly and I plan to make additional modifications to my car and perform annual maintenance. I expect the Launch CPR919E will be a valuable tool going forward. If you're a novice like me, just make sure you find trusted sources to educate you on how to use the CPR919E as you can do serious damage to your car if you're not careful. A note about the Seller (Kingbolen): I tried to redeem a Promotion "Receive 1 GIFT LAUNCH OBDII Extension Cable free when you purchase of a LAUNCH CRP919E offered by Kingbolen” but I couldn’t add it to my cart. I emailed Kingbolen just after placing the order. Within 45 minutes, I received a reply from them stating that they would send me the item. Excellent customer service! ... show more

  • Good until it expires!
Overall this is a decent scanner for a DIY user. Many useful tools, resets and graphed data. Lackluster in the code lookup, just launches a google lookup for codes :-\. Now for the bad news, trying to find an update after the subscription expires is the biggest pain. The online subscription service that is easiest to find seems shady. You have to submit the your SN and they will activate your year of updates, but it seems like a 3rd party. Nope! Since the updates are so difficult to renew, it makes me question if there are many of these tools on the market. The USA website is static and information on it is pretty sparse aside from product descriptions. Emails to the us regional support individuals go unanswered. It scans and does a good job for 2 years , then it only supports basic functions and all of the authorized distributors are listed on the website, but when you go to those sites they don’t have the renewal cards. Probably better off looking for a scanner with same features from a us company, or at the very least a more mainstream scanner that you know you’ll be able to renew once it expires. It a shame, I wanted to really like this tool, it helped me diagnose and solve many problems on my vehicles, 2004-2016 various makes and models. But I am unable to renew the subscription. I’m going with a more mainstream scanner vendor. Sure I’ll pay a little more but I won’t have a disabled tool that I can’t renew. ... show more
