This thing is super amazing! Has all kind of built-in software. Not only is it the top of the line bi-directional scan tool, it is also a tablet so once connected to the internet, you can then click on codes which will then automatically Google. Search it and pull up a YouTube video if you’d like for repairs which is really cool too because then you can sync your business email to it. That way all my work emails related to car work come to this tablet thing so I can check work emails while fixing a car and putting my Subaru into diagnostic mode or service mode or fixing brakes or whatever way more than I thought it was going to be. I wasn’t expecting it to be a mini laptop computer. It feels really solid and really rugged. It’s just a beautiful machine.

This car scanner is easy to use. You can charge the device as well. Simple plug into car to read codes. Very durable for your use. The accuracy is always correct to show you the right codes. The update frequency runs smoothly with Wi-Fi. Great buy for mechanics!

Check and charge the battery first. Then you have to do the updates on it before it’s ready for diagnostics. There’s a lot to this so you’ll want to keep the booklet handy. There’s a Mall feature on it. It’s for purchasing upgrade features. I got this to diagnose an ABS problem and it gave me the code but when you look it up it doesn’t really break it down to what component is causing the problem. The internet wasn’t any more help. Basically it said ABS circuit sensor failed. Well you have a sensor in the main abs pump/module, then you have the wheel speed sensors. So I started running it down at the speed sensors with an ohm meter to figure it out. I was expecting more from this diagnostic tool. Overall I think I have to work with it more to evaluate it better.

My husband is our family’s home garage mechanic, meaning when something goes wrong with a car in our family, we go straight to him for a solution. He has friends who actually repair cars for a living and has sometimes borrowed their commercial scanner to diagnose our vehicles at home. When I saw this scanner, I figured I’d order it so he would have one in our garage at all times and eliminate the need to have to borrow one. He says that this one is not as high tech as the one he is used to borrowing, but for our needs it is perfect! It can diagnose most basic errors, eliminating the need for a lot of little trial and error repairs, it was a great value for an at home mechanic and he loves that it offers free lifetime updates. If you are familiar with these scanning tools, you will have no problems using this one. Setup and use are both pretty standard.
