  • work as advertised
This scanner tool is easy to use. Plug in and it tells vou fault codes and the possible causesAnd it's a great tool to keep up with maintenance on cars and for keeping informed on vehicleconditions and status. My 2007 Ford Edge had an issue with a broken input sensor plug and this obd2 scanner showedinput sensor error code, it helped to find the problem very fast. I don't need to use the expensivesnap on tools. t's recommended to update the firmware on this scan tool before reading fault codes. Theinstruction book can guide you to complete it, Overall, this obd2 scanner works very well. I thinkit will save me several trips to the local auto part store to check what's going on with my carsAnd to reset the issues once I fixed them, Very helpful. ... show more

  • Limited functions...
2003 Subaru Forester XS AT I bought this based on several website recommendations that stated this specific device could provided data for my automatic transmission, as well as reseting the Airbag warning light. However, the data this device provides for the AT is far more limited than the previous four-system reader I used (that one could not read ABS or Airbag, but loads of AT diagnostic options). Yes, it can read / clear OBD codes, but so can my OBD-I scanner. The product is nice...comes with an integrated usb / micro SD card, data cable, and user guide in a sturdy case. However, I need all four functions (Engine, Transmission, Airbag, and ABS). ... show more

  • Did not solve my issue on 07 Suburban
Tech support was great and return/refund was painless. Unfortunately this did not work for my 07 Suburban for the purpose of diagnosing abs warning light. Seems like good value if my vehicle was fully supported but unfortunately the menus were limited and did not offer abs diagnostic as advertised and that was my only reason for the purchase. ... show more

  • God Send
I had an ABS light and none functional Cruz Control for 7 years on a '06 Outback. This Creader solved the problem the same day that I received it. I used Youtube to find a video on updating the Creader before I used it.

  • did not work corectly before update, worked worse after the update
I ordered mine on January 31 2021, and received it about 2to 3 days later (love that Amazon Prime shipping). I have a 2011 Ford Ranger, about as generic as you can get, but it had the ABS and skid sensors both showing on the dash. I wanted to be able to tell which speed sensor was bad so that I could just replace just the bad one. The device is supposed to show the current speed of the 4 wheels when connected and driving and also (more important when you are driving alone) let you create a report so that you could just drive your car, and then go back and watch the report playback. This is necessary for problems like mine where they sensor is fine up to about 40 mph, when (the front right sensor as it turns out) would start flaking out. You can't really watch the screen while driving at 40mph, so you need to be able to put it into record mode to see it later (or have someone ride with you). The problem was that the one I got seemed to work okay when I tested it at first because I could see the senor data fine when just moving slowly, but I could not get the recording of detail reporting even though I had record on (and it said it was recording), but it wasn't actually recording anything. I was told by the vendor to update the "firmware" (the process is simple once you get around the fact that they don't point you to the correct file (or even website) you need to download correctly), so, after some internet searching, I figured out where the actual site and code was and I updated the code from their web site. After the update, it no longer even showed the speed sensors at all, they all came up by name, but shown as 0 for the speed. At least before the update, it showed that there were speed sensors there and they would show the speed they were registering at that point in time, but I could not record them, so as to be able to drive and then go back and look at the data later. After the update, they always showed 0. Record did work though now, but showing a constant zero on all 4 wheels is not really very helpful. So I decided to return the unit, and printed out the label from Amazon returns and sent it all back in the same box. Two weeks later, still no refund, and when you click on the contact button, you are sent to the actual seller. It's shipped by Amazon, but not sold by them. Any way, they (the seller) claimed no knowledge of where my unit was. After several contacts, which took almost a month, I finally found a way to contact Amazon directly, and they provided me with a refund on February 24th (today). So, the product has some good reviews which seemed authentic, but, at least for me, it was a bad experience all around. They need to work on how to update the unit's firmware, and also maybe provide firmware that actually fixes all problems. I had thought that the updates for these things was just to add new vehicles and maybe some new codes, but apparently they also use them to just plain get the product to work. But not in my case. I will probably buy a similar one, just not this particular model. ... show more

  • Don't waste your time. You truly get what you pay for.
You have to download the program from their website. The site within the manual is incorrect and finding the one I needed was a PITA. Once found I placed the SD card in the provided USB holder and waited for it to be recognized. Never happened because the card to USB adapter doesn't have any damn connectors which was disappointing. Luckily I have my own and was able to do it that way. Finally was able to get it to work. My advice don't bother with this unit if you are not patient because you'll either ďownload a virus from one of the many bogus sites directed to and mess up your laptop or end up throwing it against a wall in frustration. ... show more

  • May be good if your malfunction has a trouble code but...
This product does a lot of what it's supposed to. What I don't like is that if you don't have codes, you have to do a dynamic scan and there's no way to save dynamic scans. You have to know which parameters to look at when a problem occurs and be looking at it or scrolling to it while you're driving. If you don't see the erroneous reading when it happens,it's gone. I think focusing on it while driving is a bit unsafe. What really bugs me is that it claims to have that save and playback capability for dynamic scans in the product description...that was part of my reason for buying it. I also thought it was ridiculous that I had to google to figure out how to change from Chinese characters which is easy once you know. Not totally useless... I think it helped me figure something out after several trips looking at and scrolling through different parameters while driving. Would have been nice to look at all parameters after one trip and while not driving if there was actually that claimed capability, though . I think there must be another product that allows you to save and look at all parameters and have a more comprehensive picture later when you don't need to focus on driving. I recommend shopping around. Also, if you're only chasing trouble codes, there are much lower priced products. ... show more
