Pretty happy with this scan tool and it's capabilities so far. It's nice to have a more capable source of information when your trying to diagnose certain issues and for sure if you have a check engine light or warning light for another system. If you don't diagnose vehicles you don't need this tool. If your a semi retired professional technician like myself this is a solid option to be able t ok work from home on your own stuff or on projects.

I have several cheap ODB2 scanners, and they work, getting me the diagnostic codes. They do not scan the ABS or SRS. I needed a scanner that could do this. This Launch ODB2 Scanner is able to do that. I was able to read and resolve an ABS issue on one of my cars and now working on diagnosing the SRS on my truck. It has led me to the suspected trouble area of the passenger seat. I only need the weather to improve, the shade tree is a little sparse.

I brought this unit to look on me older cars. After setting it up, connecting to my wi-fi, updating the software I plugged it in to my 2007 jeep liberty and press diagnose. It found the VIN number and showed all the error codes within seconds. Pin pointing the wheel that causing an ABS errors. And gave me a good idea of what was wrong by telling my it was an open circuit (broken wire). This unit is fast and easy to use. Great value for the money if your a DYI mechanic. Don't think twice about buying this.

Noted overseas product. But support is sufficient in figuring out any issues may have. Ended up receiving another scanner because mine was defective. You would have to contact launch directly.

Now I rarely do a review but this was a big disappointment. i was very excited to get this scanner for what its capabilities are. I got it and started with the setup screen and never got any further. When i got to the network setup this is where the issue started, First no matter what i did it would not find the network and when i set it up manually it would not connect via wifi. i tried for an hour and half, my phone and other devices connected to my wifi with no issues but the scanner would not. I went over to two friends house and would not connect either. also tried with zero security and still nothing. Upon this the manual stated two incorrect options. 1. being the ability to skip this option, you cannot, number 2. should have a "switch" to turn wifi on and off to conserve battery when not in use, it does not. upon trying to contact the company the number is disconnected. Amazon tried for an hour to get some answers and contact the company with no luck. i sent 3 emails trying to see if i could bypass the network option or get it work cause i really wanted to use the scanner. Amazon opinion was to just return it due to they could not get anyone or any answers either. I was still trying until I received the following back from the so-called company: Unfortunately the CRP123X is not manufactured for the North American market and as such Launch Tech USA does not sell or support it. If you would like a tool for the North American market please go to launchtechusa.com and look under products then go to WHERE TO BUY for our authorized US dealers. further investigating I found at least the model i got does not have the ability stated in the manual to either skip or turn off/on the network option in addition the protocol are not compatible in the US. Now I bought this reading the reviews and seeing that everyone seemed to like it and get it to work, unfortunately that is not the case for me. I returned it and will look for a US base company I can at least be able to get support with it. Shame i really liked it.
