  • Great product
Pattern Name: 1.26" Diameter Size: 19.68’ L×9.84’ W× 6.4’ H
THIS COMES IN 2 boxes not on the same day. I ordered the heavy-duty metal and put the frame together myself in 2 hours, so it was very easy and is very strong and well made. I intend to make a greenhouse out of it later so it should work well and stand up for that. I did not use the wire they sent as it is not nearly strong enough to keep predators out, please do not expect it to be you will be very sad when you find all your chickens dead. I ordered a 100ft x 4ft wire cloth and wrapped it around the bottom. MUCH better. Our problem is snakes so we have to have a tiny mesh and NO holes. Then I used the provided wire for the top only, it should be sufficient to keep hawks out, but if a predator climbs up it can get through, we have guard dogs so I do not worry about coons etc. The long monotonous part is applying the zip ties I only used the supplied ties as helpers extra hands I used about 300 Metal zip ties. It is very strong and while preditors spend hours trying to figure out how to get to the table. I "think" I have them outwitted. But please do not expect the wire or the ties they send to work. The frame is great, but order yourself some metal ties and some wire cloth, especially for the bottom. Another tip put your parp in the middle not on the end it gives much more shade that way. and do not cut the door wire, leave it, it eliminates an entrance point. Good Luck. ... show more

  • Great chicken run on a budget!!
The assembly is really easy and fast for anyone handy (I figure if you have chickens you probably are), we didn't want our chickens running free all over our backyard, after visiting the big box hardware stores and quoting materials this was our best option financially. We made some modifications to adapt it to our DIY chicken coop, basically we just didn't install a middle pole in one end to be able to open the chicken coop door, and use a bunch of cinder blocks from in the perimeter. We also didn't use the cover, as our chickens have access to the coop all day and there's a tree and a lot of shade were we have the chickens. The longest part was to adapt the chicken wire on the area around the tree because we wanted it that way. I'm in an area without predators, the chicken wire might need reinforcement if installed in an area with predators. This is a Saturday project of at least two people, but time depends on your setting. I think just the frame is worth the price considering the shipping price the seller has to incurred on. ... show more

  • Great value for a DAYTIME chicken run.
Pattern Name: 1.26" Diameter Size: 13.2’ L × 9.84’ W × 6.4’ H
This is a great product. It does have flaws, but it's NOT a chicken coop. So, here's a really honest review: When you first put the frame together, which was exceedingly simple, and I did it all by myself, it seems wobbly, HOWEVER, once the wire is on, it's super sturdy. I'm not sure why everyone is complaining about the wire, as it's CHICKEN WIRE. Chicken wire is inherently thin and NOT predator proof. This chicken wire is probably the best quality I've ever seen and it's very sturdy. If you want better quality, you'll need hardware cloth, which is way sturdier and WAY more expensive. This is not meant to permanently house chickens and you WILL need a coop inside it. Mine in the picture is the Producer's Pride Sentinel that I've painted with white exterior semi gloss to extend its life. As a run, you can't beat this. I did make some additions. First off, don't bother with the stupid nylon zip ties except to basically hold the wire in place before you stitch it all up by wrapping the included wire around the entire frame at two inch intervals. Yes, it's a right pain in the butt but the cable ties are garbage and many of them broke AS I WAS INSTALLING THEM. I also purchased some stainless steel zip ties and used them at crucial junctions in the frame like the center of each pole, the corners and the top joints. There's PLENTY of chicken wire to complete it. What you need to do is go from the ground, over the top (this I absolutely needed help with because the roll of wire kept unspooling lengthwise and it took two people to heft it over the peak) and then back to the ground, twice. There's no need to overlap the wire as it will be wired to the frame at each edge. Then, go from bottom to top on the ends. There will be overlap here. You'll need 2 in the back and 3 in the front door. Place the first front section in the middle directly over the door WITHOUT CUTTING IT. Once it's all wired together, wire around the door and THEN cut out the door so you'll have minimal gaps. I had plenty of chicken wire left to double up the predator line AND go over the very small gap in the door (you'll only be able to open the door outward if you cover the gap.) Use wire weaving to stitch up the overlaps. The couple of issues I have with the run is that the butterfly latch on the door is VERY difficult to operate and tends to catch on the wire, and that the whole frame sits about a half inch to an inch off the ground, leaving plenty of space for small animals to get in. I made sure to extend the chicken wire about three inches over the ground on every side and then tacked it down with 12" landscape staples about two inches apart all the way around (yup, also a pain in the tookus) to prevent anything digging under, including the chickens. I have about 20 feet of chicken wire left over for eventual repairs or reinforcement. If you want, go over the bottom 24" with hardware cloth as well. You still can't leave your chickens out in this OVERNIGHT as it's not secure enough from predators because it's NOT A CHICKEN COOP. A hungry fox or raccoon with enough time WILL chew through it. Heck, A raccoon might even figure out the latch. There enough space in the latch to install a small padlock through one hole that will prevent the latch from lifting all the way. The tarp is ok. It's reflective on one side and, since I live in New Mexico, I put the reflective side up. I ended up securing the top center holes with stainless steel zip ties because the loops included were IMPOSSIBLE to affix in those areas, so I'll need tin snips to replace the tarp when necessary, but it's great otherwise. Overall, I'm very happy with it, just ditch the plastic ties and expect it to take several days to put together because of the wire wrapping, landscape staples, and the like. WEAR GLOVES. Even with fence gloves, my hands were raw after two days of wrapping and tightening wire. Don't listen to the negative reviews about how it's not sturdy or the wire is weak. It's CHICKEN WIRE... CHICKEN WIRE... Not hardware cloth and you SHOULDN'T be leaving chickens in it with no other shelter. For the last time, IT'S NOT A CHICKEN COOP, it's a daytime run. It's a great value. ... show more

  • Keeps chickens in, but not predator proof
Pattern Name: 1" Diameter Size: 6.5’ L × 9.84’ W × 6.4’ H
This was relatively easy to assemble - I spent a few hours in total completing it but was distracted by toddlers. Built as instructed and with only included materials, it's great for containing chickens and giving them a nice run. I also purchased hog nail ring pliers to avoid having to use so many zip ties (after reading others' reviews), then reinforced the pen with welded wire and bricks to make it more predator proof. I live in town, so this works for me. I wouldn't recommend this pen if you have more predators than neighborhood dogs or stray cats. ... show more

  • Nice size
Pattern Name: 1.26" Diameter Size: 18.7'L x 9.2'W x 6.4'H
We had to wait an extra week to put this together because a piece was missing. The seller sent a new piece. The run took all day to put together. The frame was simple to put together and fairly quick. The door was tricky because the instructions were not very detailed. Needed 2 people for the door. The "wire" was fairly easy to roll out and over. It took a lot of time attaching it to the frame - the zip ties were small and fiddly. We ended up using our own, bigger ones which made it easier. We put the wire on the door end as a whole piece, tied it on the poles and then cut around the door to save cutting out each individual piece. The spanner was awful and had burs on it which made it awkward to use. Overall it was OK and time will tell if the wire is strong enough. It's a nice size ... show more
